Format: The Chili Bowl Nationals features six straight nights of dirt track racing. The first five nights see a totally different field of drivers. Points are totaled each night to set drivers in their respective alphabet feature by the time we get to Saturday’s finale.

Tonight, it’s a battle of champions. NASCAR Cup Series champion Chase Elliott is set for his Chili Bowl debut. Also, it’s the prelim night for World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series champion Brad Sweet.

Elliott was spun in the B Main after he checked up for a car ahead of him. He battled from the back of the field but missed a transfer spot into the main event. Elliott will start in an F main on Saturday.

Other notables includes NASCAR Cup Series driver Ryan Newman. Making their Chili Bowl debuts tonight are NASCAR Truck Series driver Brett Moffitt and Indycar driver Santino Ferruchi.

Rico Abreu and Alex Bright line up on the front row. 30 more laps of dirt midget racing are up next…
