A new NASCAR tv series is set for it’s debut
The Crew is a new comedy series led by actor Kevin James. The new NASCAR tv show is set to debut on February 15 via Netflix.
The series follows the inner-workings of a backmarker NASCAR team. James stars as the crew chief for the fictional Bobby Spencer Racing team.
The Plot: “Life in the garage swerves off track for a NASCAR crew chief and his tight-knit racing team when a new boss steps in and shakes things up.”
The team owner steps down from operations, handing the team to his daughter Catherine (played by Jillian Mueller). The crew chief works to defend against the modernization of the team.
The new NASCAR comedy show will feature 10 episodes.
The action scenes were filming on actual NASCAR tracks and featured real race cars. Those scenes were cut at Michigan International Speedway, during the NASCAR race weekend in Summer 2020.
The No. 74 car was provided by Spire Motorsports which features Fake Steak as a sponsor. Reed Sorenson was the driver.
The show is run and created by avid fans of the sport.
Jeff Lowell (The Ranch, Two and a Half Men, Spin City) serves as writer, showrunner and executive producer. Andy Fickman (Paul Blart: Mall Cop 2, Playing With Fire) is the director for all episodes and serves as an executive producer. Matt Summers and Tim Clark are the executive producers for NASCAR in regards to the show.
Actor Freddie Stroma (Harry Potter, UnREAL, Pitch Perfect) is the driver on the series.
February 15th is the date of it’s Netflix debut. That’s the day intimidate following the Daytona 500 at Daytona International Raceway.
