Main Event
Report

Tracks officials have dug into the track ahead of the feature race. Both the top and bottom grooves have been scratched. They also put a little water on the bottom.

Green flag, Owens and Clanton run side by side into turn one. Friesen thinks about making it three wide but he loses the nose and washes up the banking in the dirty air. Owens leads on the bottom into turn three.

Lap 2, Pierce works inside of Clanton into turn one. Pierce to 2nd.

Lap 7, Owens has caught the tail of the field. Pierce closes right to his rear bumper.

Owens moves to the middle lane to work lap traffic. Pierce fills the inside lane and they run side by side for the lead.

Owens runs wide in turn four. Pierce is clear, new leader.

 Lap 16, slow car in turn two, caution.

Green, Pierce leads on the bottom. Clanton hits the cushion and he clears Owens.

Clanton is closing on Pierce. He’s nearly to his right rear as he remains on the cushion.

Caution as Kyle Strickler spins. Richards comes to a stop under yellow and needs a push.

Green, Clanton hits the cushion once more and has momentum off turn two. He looks to the inside in turn 3 but Pierce shuts the door.

Lap 20, Clanton drives it deep on the outside in turn one. He pulls even with Pierce as he gases it off turn two. Clanton is on the right rear of him into three and off turn four. Pierce shuts the door off turn four and Clanton is forced to lift. There may have been light contact.

Lap 21, Clanton drives it deep on the outside in turn one. He’s there, they run side by side down the back and into turn three. Clanton completes the pass on the outside, new leader.

Lap 30, Clanton leads Pierce by 5 car lengths.

Lap 35, Clanton has caught the tail of the field. The entire field runs the inside lane as the smell of rubber is wafting.
