Chase Elliott to run dirt late model at Bristol Dirt Track

NASCAR stars continue to invade entry list for short track event at Bristol Motor Speedway

Chase Elliott is the latest NASCAR Cup Series driver that will take to the Bristol Motor Speedway a week ahead of the NASCAR race on the new dirt track.

The Bristol Dirt Nationals event will run from March 15-20th. It features 6 straight days of racing and over 1000 cars on the entry list across 8 classes.

On Wednesday, Elliott shared an image of his dirt late model for the race. The dates are listed as March 19-20th. The red No. 9 machine will have primary sponsorship from Ashoc.

The chassis is a Capital Race Car powered by Vic Hill Racing Engines. The team is Advanced Motorsports out of Clinton, Tennessee with Stacy Boles as the team owner.

Elliott will run in the Super Late Model division on Friday and Saturday. Friday’s Super Late Model Feature pays $10,000 the race winner. The Super Late Model race pays $50,000 to the feature winner on Saturday.

Drivers previously announced: Kyle Larson (Late Model), Kyle Busch (Late Model), Joey Logano (Modified), Austin Dillon (Crate Late Model) and Corey LaJoie (Crate Late Model).

Possible drivers: Brad Keselowski.

Two practice days are scheduled for the Bristol Dirt Nationals on March 13-14th.

The week after, the NASCAR Cup Series and NASCAR Truck Series will take to the same track. It marks the first NCS race on dirt since 1970. Many of these drivers are running the Bristol Dirt Nationals to get laps on the new track ahead of the big race.

“It is a very neat deal to be a part of and I’m ecstatic to have Chase Elliott drive our equipment at Bristol next week,” said Stacy Boles. 

“A lot of eyes will be on Bristol for the Bristol Dirt Nationals and I think with Chase’s ability and his previous experience on dirt, he should be exciting to watch.”

Bowles added, “There are some things in the works to possibly have him drive a few more times throughout the year and that’s something we may announce in the future, but everyone’s focus is on Bristol at this point.”
