Mike Wallace, Josh Reaume reinstated following NASCAR suspension

Both NASCAR drivers were suspended in 2020 for similar violations

Mike Wallace and Josh Reaume have both been reinstated following a suspension from NASCAR. Per an official release each driver, “successfully completed the terms and conditions mandated for reinstatement.”

Wallace was handed an indefinite suspension Sept. 10, 2020. Reaume was suspended Nov. 10, 2020. Both drivers were suspended following social media posts that violated sections 12.1, 12.8 and 12.8.1.e of the NASCAR rule book.

12.8.1.e: “public statement and/or communication that criticizes, ridicules, or otherwise disparages another person based upon that person’s race, color, creed, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, marital status, religion, age, or handicapping condition.”

Wallace appealed his penalty, twice. Both times the appeal was rejected and the penalty was upheld.

Wallace has over 800 starts and 9 race wins across the top three divisions of the NASCAR ladder. Until last year, the driver has not competed since 2015. He ran three NASCAR Xfinity Series events in 2020 for JD Motorsports, bringing home a best finish of 24th.

Josh Reaume competes in the NASCAR Xfinity Series and NASCAR Truck Series. He’s run 87 races across both divisions and collected 1 top-10 result. He is the co-owner of Reaume Brothers Racing.
