Over the weekend, NASCAR unloaded in Richmond, Virginia. The 0.75-mile oval hosted the NASCAR Cup Series and NASCAR Truck Series.

Alex Bowman drove to the race win in Sunday’s cup race. He stole the win in the closing laps from Denny Hamlin.

Following the weekend, three NASCAR penalties have been issued. That includes the NASCAR Truck Series race winner, John Hunter Nemechek.

Infraction: Sections 10.9.10.4 – Tires and Wheels – Note: Lug nut(s) not properly installed.

Penalty: Crew chief ( Ryan “Rudy” Fugle ) has been fined $10,000.

Driver: Cody Ware #51

Infraction Date: April 18, 2021 (Post-Race)

Level: Safety

Infraction: Sections 10.9.10.4 – Tires and Wheels – Note: Lug nut(s) not properly installed.

Penalty: Crew chief ( Mike Hillman ) has been fined $10,000.

Driver: John Hunter Nemechek #4

Infraction Date: April 17, 2021 (Post-Race)

Level: Safety

Infraction: Sections 10.9.10.4 – Tires and Wheels – Note: Lug nut(s) not properly installed.

Penalty: Crew chief ( Eric Phillips ) has been fined $2,500.
