Race Report
Green flag, Holmes and Gibbs run side into turn one. They remain side by side off turn two!
Gibbs leads into turn three. Holmes gets taken three wide and he gets loose in the middle! Holmes is sideways and rolling backwards up the banking.
Scott Melton comes into the scene with nowhere to go. He drives right into the door of Holmes. The red flag is out.
Green, Gibbs and Corey Heim run even into turn one. Gibbs pinches him down off turn two but they remain side by side into turn three. Heim gets loose on the bottom, as he lifts Gibbs leads.
Lap 15, Gibbs leads Drew Dollar by 1.2 seconds. He’s driving away.
Lap 27, Nick Sanchez hits the pit lane under green with a flat left rear, no caution.
Lap 47, Toni Breidinger hits the pit lane with a possible issue, no caution. All tires look to be inflated.
Lap 49, Ty Gibbs leads Dollar by 8 seconds.
Competition caution
Lap 51, the competition caution is out.
Penalty: Heim will be forced to restart at the tail. He’s also a lap down as a result.
Green, Gibbs is clear before turn one as Dollar holds 2nd.
Lap 66, Eric Caudell is around after getting loose in turn three. He backs it into the fence, caution. Heim will get his lap back.
Green, Gibbs and Dollar run even into turn one. Dollar gets loose on the inside off turn two but they remain side by side. Dollar gets loose again on the inside in turn three, Gibbs finally clears him.
15 to go, Corey Heim is slicing through the field he’s up to 4th after restarting at the tail.
11 to go, Corey Heim looks into of Corey Heim for 3rd but he can’t complete the pass.
10 to go, Heim runs wide into turn one and builds momentum. He crosses under Jack Wood off turn two and takes 3rd away.
At the front, Ty Gibbs has driven away and he takes the win at Kansas Speedway!
