Kyle Tilley to make NASCAR Cup Series debut

British racing driver set to make four starts in NASCAR Cup Series

Kyle Tilley is the reigning Rolex 24 champion in the LMP2 class this year. Last year, he also claimed the LeMans Series Pro/Am championship.

The Bristish-driver currently runs in the IMSA, the Asian LeMans Series and European LeMans Series. He already has an IMSA win at the Daytona Road Course for the 2021 season.

Now, Tilley will branch out into the stock car racing world. It was announced on Tuesday that the driver is set to run multiple races in the NASCAR Cup Series via the No. 78 machine for Live Fast Motorsports.

Live Fast Motorsports is one of many new NCS teams for the 2021 season. The team was founded by BJ McLeod and Matt Tifft.

Four races have been added. Tilley will run at Circuit of the Americas, Road America, Watkins Glen International and the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Road Course.

The team will be sponsored by Battle Associates and Bremont Chronometers in the upcoming race at COTA. Both sponsors will make their sponsorship debut in the NASCAR world.

“The NASCAR Cup Series! To say I’m excited would be an understatement. I have always been a big fan of NASCAR and the close racing it provides,” Tilley said. “To have the opportunity to go up against the best at COTA is going to be both a huge challenge and learning curve, but one I am really looking forward to.”

Tilley added, “There are a lot of people to thank, firstly team owners BJ McLeod and Matt Tifft for the faith they have shown in me, and my partners Battle Associates and Bremont Chronometers for coming onboard for the weekend! I am honored to be a part of Team Live Fast and am excited to see what we can do together!”
