The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series has been in Wheatland, Missouri for three days. Tonight, they’ll close out the weekend at Lucas Oil Speedway with a 100-lap, $30,000 to win dirt late model event.

Green flag, Richards drives it deep to the bottom in turn one. He slides McCreadie and he’s clear in turn two.

Back in turn one, McCreadie has a look on the bottom but he loses momentum in the process. Owens and Clanton split him, three wide for 2nd.

Lap 4, Clanton is on the bumper of Richards for the lead. Richards to the bottom, Clanton to the top. Clanton gets to his right rear and clears him, Clanton leads.

Lap 10, Clanton sticks with the top. Owens closes on him and dives to the bottom, it doesn’t work.

Owens tries him again, clear. Owens leads and now he works heavy lap traffic.

Lap 25, Owens leads Clanton by 8 car lengths. McCreadie is closing, he drives right by Clanton on the outside lane. McCreadie to 2nd.

Lap 30, most of the leaders run the middle and high lane as they drive by lap traffic. The bottom lane looks to be the preferred lane.

Lap 37

Lap 37, Ferguson slows and the first caution is out.

Green, Owens leads. McCreadie knocks the cushion in turn one and nearly pulls to his right rear.

Back in turn one, McCreadie does it again. This time he pulls even but Owens wins the race off turn two on the bottom.

McCreadie tries one more time, he’s there and clear off turn two. He drops to the bottom in turn three and takes the lane away.

Halfway

Lap 50, McCreadie leads Owens by three car lengths.

Lap 55, McCreadie struggles with lap traffic. Owens closes, he punches it in turn three and nearly gets to the right rear of McCreadie for the lead. Hudson O’Neal throws his nose in the fight.

Lap 56, Tyler Erb is upside down in turn four and the red flag is out. He climbs from the car on his own.

After they roll the car back over, Erb grabs his helmet and tries to fire it up. It fires and Erb drives it to the pit area. The crew goes to work to fast repair the damage. He pulls away and just like that he’s back in the race.

Green, McCreadie leads.

Owens has a look on the bottom off turn four. He’s there. Papich spins behind them, caution.

Bloomquist to the pits and back out.

Green, McCreadie punches the gas early in turn three and catches them by surprise. He’s clear by 3 car lengths in turn four. Owens drops to 5th. Hudson O’Neal rides 2nd, Richards 3rd.

37 to go

37 to go, O’Neal has a run on McCreadie into turn three. He looks to the bottom, pulls even but can’t complete the pass.

O’Neal slides him back in turn one but he can’t clear him. O’Neal gives it another try, clear.

27 to go, O’Neal has caught the tail of the field. He leads McCreadie and Richards by 10 car lengths.

19 to go, Sheppard clears Richards on the inside in turn three. Move him to 3rd.

13 to go, Sheppard drives by McCreadie for 2nd. O’Neal is 10 car lengths up the road with three lap cars between them.
