Dirt Late Model Dream results; $127k to win
Tonight, the first of two Dirt Late Model Dream events will come to a close. A 100-lap main event will pay $127,000 to the Eldora Speedway race winner.

Tonight’s race is officially the 27th annual DLMD. Tomorrow, they’ll re-rack the entire show and go at it once again in the makeup event from last year.
There was no qualifying in tonight’s show. Points earned from last night were used to set the lineups for the heat races.
Rain began to fall in heat race number two. Track officials went to work to get the track back in shape but it’s tacky and fast as a results. It’s also hot and engine issues are a possible concern in the pit area.
Kyle Larson drove to the win in heat one. He’s set to make his Dirt Late Model Dream debut.
Brandon Sheppard will start from the pole position as Chad Simpson rolls from the outside front row following heat race wins from both of those drivers. The field lines up in a four wide salute for the dirt racing fans! Fireworks blast and we’re ready for 100 laps of dirt late model racing…

Green flag, Sheppard is clear into turn one. They run four wide for 2nd off turn two, Brandon Overton takes over that spot in turn three.
Lap 10, Sheppard leads Overton by 3 seconds but he’s caught the tail of the field. Overton is starting to close.
Lap 17, Ricky Thornton Jr is up in smoke, no caution.
Lap 19, Overton has closed to within a car length of Sheppard. Overton runs the middle as Sheppard is glued to the cushion.
Lap 20, Mason Zeigler is slow with a flat tire, caution.
Green, Sheppard leads Overton into turn one.
Lap 27, Bobby Pierce slows and the caution is out. Pierce pulls to the infield and communicates of throttle issues to his crew.
Green, Sheppard leads Overton in turn one. Dale McDowell and Kyle Bronson runs side by side off turn two for 3rd, Bronson wins that battle.
Lap 29, Kyle Bronson slides Overton for 2nd in turn three! He clears him and takes the spot.

Lap 30, Dennis Erb Jr has climbed from 25th to 7th after transferring through the B Main. Billy Moyer Jr slows and the caution is out.
Green, Sheppard leads. Bronson works to the right rear of Overton off turn two but he can’t complete the pass.
Lap 31, Overton looks inside of Sheppard in turn one. He can’t complete the pass through the middle as Sheppard bangs the cushion.
Lap 32, Devin Moran is slow, caution.
Green, Sheppard leads Overton and Davenport. Sparks fly as Bronson knocks the wall in turn one. Bronson falls outside the top 5.
Lap 38, Overton looks inside of Sheppard in the battle for the lead. He can’t complete the pass but hangs with him. Overton is one of the few working the middle lane.
Lap 45, Sheppard works lap traffic. Overton dives to the inside in turn three, he nearly clears him but Sheppard swings back to the lead on the outside.
Lap 46, Pierce slows, caution.
Green, Sheppard leads Overton. McDowell stuffs Bronson in the turn one wall. Multiple cars tangle behind them, caution.
Green, Sheppard leads as Overton and Davenport runs side by side for 2nd. Overton looks inside of Sheppard in turn three as Davenport looks inside of both. Three wide for the lead, Sheppard holds them off as he knocks the cushion.
Lap 52, Overton slides Sheppard in turn three. He clears him but Chad Simpson stops in turn one, caution. He’ll have to pass him again.
Green, Sheppard slides clear of Overton into turn one.
Kyle Bronson slides Davenport back in turn one. They run inches apart and Davenport jumps the cushion off turn two. Davenport drops to 6th.
Lap 58, Bronson has caught the bumper of Overton. The top 3 run bumper to bumper.

Lap 59, Chris Ferguson slows and the caution is out.
Green, Sheppard is clear of Overton by 3 car lengths off turn two. McCreadie slides Bronson for 3rd.
Lap 60, Overton slides Sheppard in turn three! He’s clear, Overton leads.
Lap 63, Larson ooks inside of Dale McDowell but the rear end steps around and he spins. The caution is out and Larson will drop to the rear after running 5th.
Green, Overton leads as McCreadie takes over 2nd.
Lap 69, Bronson slides Sheppard for 3rd.
27 to go, Bronson has caught the bumper of McCreadie in the battle for 2nd. McCreadie leaves the cushion and moves to the middle. He opens the gap to Bronson in a hurry.
19 to go, McCreadie is closing slightly on Overton. Overton leads by 2 seconds.
14 to go, McCreadie is fading as Bronson closes back on his bumper. Overton and McCreadie run the middle as Bronson bounces off the cushion.
5 to go, Overton leads mcCreadie by 2.3 seconds.
