Tonight, the national dirt late model drivers unload in Knoxville, Iowa. The half-mile dirt track is set for night two of three in the famed Knoxville Late Model Nationals.

Drivers are points racing in the Thursday and Friday portions of the show. Passing points are in play and the highest points night between the two will be used to set the lineup for Saturday’s $50,000 finale.

Main Event – Report

Green flag, Sheppard leads on the inside into turn one. Bruening pulls even on the outside off turn two but Sheppard holds the led into turn three.

Lap 3, Bruening works under Sheppard for the lead in turn one. Tyler Erb has a run on both of them. Erb to the lead on the inside.

Lap 10, Erb leads Bruening by 2 seconds.

Lap 11, Strickler slides Babb for 4th. McCreadie follows him through to take 5th.

Lap 16, Bruening has closed the gap to Erb, just a 1 seconds lead. Erb works heavy lap traffic.

8 to go, Logan Martin slows and the caution is out.

Green, Tyler Erb launches from the cushion and he leads by three car lengths into turn one. Sheppard knocks the cushion in turn one and he has the momentum off turn two to take 2nd away.

6 to go, Kyle Strickler jumps the cushion after being forced wide by Ricky Thornton Jr. Strickler smacks the wall and the caution is out.

Green, Tyler Erb leads into turn one. Sheppard knocks the cushion once more and clears Bruening off turn two to hold 2nd.

3 to go, Thornton Jr jumps the cushion and brushes the wall but he keeps it rolling.

2 to go, Shannon Babb slows and the caution is out.

Green, Erb leads Sheppard on the single file restart.
