The cars were completely out of control on the slick surface. They went three wide on the tiny narrow track. Flips would happen often on the steep banking.
The lego-style connect track is a a half-million dollar, high-banked race track. The series previously raced inside the Richmond Coliseum.
Arena Racing USA “went dark” in the 2017-2018 season. They never returned.
The Richmond Coliseum was built in 1969. It held 11,000-13,000 people in Richmond, Virginia. In January 2019, the stadium was permanently closed.
The cars reach 50mph on the bullring oval. The laps are just 8 seconds.
Back in 2009, NASCAR team owner Joe Gibbs even jumped behind the wheel. The two on two race saw Joe Gibbs flip Norm Miller.
The one-of-a-kind track is now for sale. After years of no activity, the series has listed the track for sale.
Ricky Dennis stated via twitter, “For sale: ArenaCar Racing business or just have the coolest race/school/roller derby/etc track at your house.”
