Three NASCAR crew members ejected from Indianapolis Motor Speedway

This weekend, NASCAR returns to the Indianapolis, Indiana. The Indianapolis Motor Speedway Road Course hosts the NASCAR Cup Series.

Cup teams have yet to touch the track. However, on Friday all teams rolled though the inspection line in advance of Saturday’s qualifying effort.

The Kaulig Racing No. 16 and No. 31 entries in addition to the Team Hezeberg No. 26 all failed pre-qualifying tech twice. Per the rules each team will see a crew member ejected.

Ejections

#16 AJ Allmendinger
Ejected: Andy Seuss (Car Chief)

#31 Justin Haley
Ejected: Jaron Antley (Car Chief)

#26 Daniil Kvyat
Ejected: Devin Foken (Mechanic)

All teams were able to pass inspection on their third attempt through the inspection line.

NASCAR Inspection Rules (Pre-Qualifying)

1 Inspection failure: No penalty, the team gets to go to the back of the inspection line and try again.

2 inspection failures: If a team fails twice, NASCAR will eject a crew member.

3 inspection failures: All of the above. They’ll also serve a pass-through penalty at the start of the race.
