Chase Elliott comments after he shooed away NASCAR TV camera

Chase Elliott was frustrated after the Charlotte Roval; NASCAR driver reflects on his actions

Last weekend, NASCAR returned to Charlotte, North Carolina. The Charlotte Motor Speedway Road Course hosted the playoff cut race for the Round of 12, eliminating four playoff drivers.

Chase Elliott is the most popular NASCAR driver. He’s also a favorite to win the NASCAR championship.

However, the No. 9 team didn’t fair so well of the Charlotte Roval. And emotions boiled over in the post-race coverage.

After the race, cameras circulated Chase Elliott. But, he wasn’t having it.

Elliott was chatting with teammate William Byron. He turned around, spotted the camera in his face, grabbed it and pointed in the opposite direction.

The camera backed up up, slightly. But that wasn’t enough for the driver of the No. 9 car.

Elliott turned around again and visually told the camera man to, “go away.”

Chase Elliott reflects on his actions

“Probably not a wise move on my behalf,” Chase Elliott stated the following week at Las Vegas.

“I asked the guy to give a little space, and he didn’t really.”

“So, you know, frustration after a tough race. But, probably not the right move for me.”
