Kyle Busch picked up his third win of the season via WWT Raceway at Gateway
On Sunday, NASCAR raced at WWT Raceway. Kyle Busch started from the pole position then held off the field to grab the win.
Kyle Busch now has 3 wins in 15 races with Richard Childress Racing. It’s officially his best season since 2019 and we’re not even halfway.
Last year, when RCR announced Busch had been signed, Childress was asked how the two would get along. It’s a fair question given RCR once punched Kyle Busch in the face after wrecking on of his cars.
But, Richard Childress has been very happy with his new driver. And, yet again, he likens his new driver to another legendary RCR driver, Dale Earnhardt…
Richard Childress comments on Kyle Busch
“He’s winning races, showing we can win races,” Richard Childress stated from the media center after the win at WWT Raceway.
“He’s helped Austin a whole lot. Austin’s had some really good runs, he drove up to 10th until the No. 2 car wrecked him on purpose, sort of a payback.”
Austin Cindric hooked Austin Dillon in the right rear just before turn one.
“Kyle has been such a pleasure to work with. Everybody said, ‘How are y’all going to get along?’ “
“It’s the same question they asked me, ‘You and Dale won’t last six months.’ We lasted 20 years.”
“I wanna keep Kyle there. Hopefully, we can end his career, when he gets ready to.”
Busch is currently in his 21st year of NASCAR Cup Series competition. The driver has collected 63 wins.
