NASCAR driver Chris Buescher attacks Tyler Reddick after Darlington (Video)

Tyler Reddick crashed Chris Buescher while going for the NASCAR Cup Series win in the closing laps at Darlington Raceway

On Sunday, the NASCAR Cup Series took the green flag at Darlington Raceway in South Carolina. Three drivers battled for the win in the closing laps and tempers flared after the race.

Watch the Chris Buescher vs Tyler Reddick video below.

On the final restart, RFK driver/co-owner Brad Keselowski doored Tyler Reddick off turn four. As they both lost momentum, the other RFK driver, Chris Buescher drove under them, taking the lead away.

With just 10 laps to go, Reddick ran down the bumper of Buescher in the battle for the win. Reddick drove it deep to the bottom in turn three. The slide job was attempted but it was a miss.

Instead of clearing Buescher, Reddick put him into the outside wall. Both drivers picked up flat tires as Keselowski cruised by to take the lead and the win.

After the race, Buescher was seeing red. He climbed from his car in a hurry and walked right over to Reddick on the pit lane. Buescher grabbed Reddick by his fire suit and starting screaming.

Chris Buescher comments

“We got wrecked,” Chris Buescher told Fox Sports after the race.

“That one’s clear as day. We don’t need any cameras to tell us.”

Last week, Buescher finished 2nd to Kyle Larson in a photo finish at Kansas Speedway. It was the closest finish is the history of the sport at .001 seconds. Buescher wasn’t sure from the photos he saw of the finish directly after the race.

“I don’t know what to say. We’ve raced each other really clean through the years. Tried to be respectful about it and we get used up.”

“Just really pissed off about it right now. … Just felt like we got used up.”

“He knows he messed up. He said it but that doesn’t change anything for us.”

“I told him, he’s got a win sticker on the door and we’re still trying to find ours. We get used up like that and take away those opportunities.”

“That’s two weeks in a row we’ve had a shot to win races. One, I’m going to live in my head about what I should’ve done different. And, this one here, I need someone else to be more mature about it.”

Tyler Reddick comments

“I completely understand where he’s coming from,” Tyler Reddick stated.

“He’s running the top. Running his own race, running his own line, keeping me at bay. Yeah, I made a really aggressive move.”

“I was hoping I was going to clear him. When I realized that I wasn’t going to I tried to check up and not slide up into him. But yeah, I wish I wouldn’t have done that, unfortunately.”

“He did nothing wrong. Just trying to win the race. If I take myself out, that’s one thing, I can live with that. Just disappointed it played out the way it did and took him out as well. That was not the goal there.”

“It’s tough to walk away knowing I used someone up and took their chance away from winning the race, that’s raced me really cleanly since they came in the Cup Series. I’ll have to work on that and try to make some better decisions going forward.”
