Richard Childress comments

“I would’ve jumped right in the middle of it,” RCR team owner Richard Childress told Chris Weaver.

“I don’t fight as fair as I used to. I’m a little older. Ricky Stenhouse said that he was going to wreck the 8 car at Charlotte.”

“Well, when I see him, I’m gonna tell him if he does, I’m older, but I’ve just changed my style of fighting. He’ll carry a rough ass-beating.”

Ricky Stenhouse Jr has since talked to the NASCAR team owner

“Yeah, I talked to Richard,” Ricky Stenhouse Jr told Fox Sport’s Race Hub.

“Obviously, I saw his comments last night and had a pretty good laugh when I saw that. I called Richard this morning and said, ‘Hey, no loss of respect for that organization.’ “

“In the heat of the moment, I told Kyle I’d wreck him at Charlotte. Then, I went on LaJoie’s podcast and said I’m not going to wreck him. I’m not going to do that.”

“Richard and I had a laugh about it. He basically said, ‘You can do whatever you want with Kyle, just don’t wreck my racecar.’ “

“I said, ‘Yes sir! Loud and clear.’ “
