Steve Cullman has passed following a suspected medical event

On Friday morning, racing driver Steve Cullman suffered a suspected medical event. Cullman passed during on-track activity.
The track, series and team has released a joint statement following the incident:

“Historic Sportscar Racing, Watkins Glen International and Olthoff Racing are saddened by the passing of driver Steven Cullman after a suspected medical episode this morning during on-track activity for the HSR Classic 6 Hours of The Glen.”
“Steve was a popular and successful competitor, frequently seen in HSR Victory Lane in his pristine 1970 No. 74 Ford Mustang Boss 302 by Olthoff Racing. He secured a pair of HSR feature race podium finishes in 2024’s opening event weekends at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta and Sebring International Raceway.”
“He was voted HSR’s Most Improved Driver in 2022 in a season that saw him earn second place in the Group 5 season championship and third in points in the American division of the HSR International/America Challenge Series.”
The statement concluded, “Our thoughts are with his wife Kim and their children, as well as his friends and teammates, during this difficult time.”
