Iowa Speedway is set to host their first NASCAR Cup Series race at the track designed by Rusty Wallace
This weekend, NASCAR is heading to Iowa Speedway. It will be the biggest weekend in the history of the track as they host their first NASCAR Cup Series event.

The 0.75-mile track was built 18 years ago. It was designed by former NASCAR Cup Series champion Rusty Wallace.
In 2019, the track was sold to NASCAR.
This weekend, Daniel Dye will drive the No. 10 for Kaulig Racing in the NASCAR Xfinity Series. And he’ll do it in a throwback paint scheme to Rusty Wallace.
Wallace is the 1989 NASCAR Winston Cup Series champion. He led the series in wins during the 1988, 1989, 1993 and 1994 seasons.
The car will feature ‘Race to stop suicide’ branding. It’s written in a similar font to the original ‘Miller Genuine Draft’ branding.
Wallace drove the iconic black and yellow No. 2 fielded by Team Penske. The scheme was run in the early 1990’s of NASCAR Cup Series competition.
The Midnight scheme was retired at the end of the 1994 season.
