Cole Custer has a black eye after confrontation with Chandler Smith

NASCAR driver Chandler Smith punched Cole Custer after the race at Martinsville Speedway

“I guess I bruise easy.”

Last week ended in drama at Martinsville Speedway. Contact between Cole Custer and Chandler Smith led to a pit road confrontation.

After a brief exchange of words between the two NASCAR Xfinity Series driver it ended with a punch/slap from Chandler Smith. Custer immediately walked away laughing.

Custer told NBC after the incident, “Then, he punches me in the face. I can’t even really tell if he punched me in the face, it was so soft.”

This week, NASCAR elected to fine Smith for the incident.

Dale Earnhardt Jr discusses Cole Custer’s black eye

Now, Custer is heading into a championship battle with a black eye.

“I’ve been sitting here 30 minutes and just noticed that you got a black eye,” Dale Earnhardt Jr pointed out during an interview with Custer on the Dale Jr Download

“Yeah, I got a little bit right there,” Custer admitted.

Jr was surprised, “That (expletive) slap gave you a black eye?”

“I guess I bruise easy,” the driver replied. 

Earnhardt asked, “What, did he have a ring on? What the (expletive)? Did y’all see that?”

This weekend, Custer is one of four drivers racing for a NASCAR Xfinity Series championship at Phoenix Raceway.
