The NASCAR Cup Series driver will also run USAC National Midget races ahead of the Chili Bowl Nationals
Two-time NASCAR Cup Series champion Kyle Busch is heading to the Chili Bowl Nationals.
The race is the biggest dirt midget race of the season. It features 300+ entries seeking one of 24 starting spots in the finale of a week long show.
Hear from Kyle Busch below.
In recent years, Busch has been racing micros with his son Brexton. Both of them have competed in the Tulsa Shootout, a separate event run on the same track at the Chili Bowl Nationals. However, this will be the first time Busch joins the big midget show.
Busch will drive the Lucas Oil / FloRacing No. 51 car in the event.
Kyle Busch comments
“The Cup Season may be over, but the Racing season is still in full swing with the biggest events on dirt taking place over the next couple of months,” Kyle Busch stated in the release.
He added, “The Chili Bowl is a legendary event and has always been on my wish-list. To be able to compete there, and then alongside my son Brexton at the Tulsa Shootout, is making this year one to remember.”
Busch has previously said that he didn’t think he would ever race a midget noting that he was too big saying, “I’m 200 pounds. I can’t keep up with those lightweight kids.”
