NASCAR’s return to Bowman Gray Stadium is sold out

Tickets remain available for the modified race

NASCAR is set to return to the iconic Bowman Gray Stadium for the first time since 1971. The North Carolina track will host the only preseason race for the NASCAR Cup Series on Sunday, Feb. 2.

And, it’s sold out.

The 1/4-mile short track is nicknamed ‘The Madhouse’ and with good reason. The tight racing tends to result in contact and hot tempers.

Saturday’s portion of the program will also feature the Weekly Modified Division. The Madhouse Classic is an exhibition race for the modified class and will run 125 laps.

The modified portion of the show is by invitation only. It’s based on the top-20 in point standings from the previous modified season at the track.

Tickets are still available for Saturday’s race.

In recent weeks, construction upgrades have been underway. The NASCAR owned facility has torn down the old walls and replaced them with safer barriers. Additionally, a new LED lightning system has gone up.

NASCAR comments on the sellout crowd

“The sell out of The Clash at Bowman Gray Stadium speaks volumes about the monumental nature of the event at this historic venue,” said NASCAR’s Justin Swilling, Project Lead for the NASCAR Clash.

Swilling added, “We’re honored to bring such an incredible race weekend to Winston-Salem that will provide an opportunity to place the stars of Bowman Gray Stadium’s Modified Division in the national spotlight.”

Bowman Gray Stadium will now be managed by NASCAR
