Carson Hocevar and Layne Riggs comment after the bird was given at the finishline
On Saturday night, the final lap in the NASCAR Truck Series race ended with a bit of drama at Kansas Speedway.
NASCAR Cup Series driver Carson Hocevar made a Truck Series appearance and he found himself as the race leader in the closing laps. However, Layne Riggs had speed and he was running him down.
On the final lap, Riggs dove to the inside of Hocevar. They fought for space, Riggs got loose and wiggled into the side of Hocevar.
Clipping Hocevar in the left rear, they both ran wide off turn two. Both trucks bounced off the wall but they were able to complete the final half of a lap.
As Hocevar drove off turn four to the checkered flag, he did it with one hand on the wheel. The other was out the window as he pointed his middle finger at Riggs.

Layne Riggs comments
“I’m just glad he didn’t spin or wreck bad,” Layne Riggs told Fox Sports after the race.
“I was going to try to get into him. Get him free and make him hit the wall a little bit and be passed him. But, lost all my momentum.”
“Hey, he flipped me off all the way down the front stretch coming to the checkered flag. How can you be too mad when you win the race?”
“It’s all fun and games. It’s good to race with those guys.”

Carson Hocevar comments
“It was somewhat friendly,” Carson Hocevar said of the finger in the media center.
“Yeah, I don’t remember what I really did to be honest. If anything, I just wanted to remind him of, ‘Hey, I still won.’ “
“He did a really good job. He’s super talented.”
“It’s all harm, no foul. I’m sure my bird is real small compared to contact.”
“It’s all friendly and when I see him, I’m sure we’ll laugh about it.”
