Christopher Bell to fill in for injured NASCAR driver Stewart Friesen

Stewart Friesen will be sidelined following a dirt modified crash that sent him into surgery

Earlier this week, NASCAR Truck Series driver Stewart Friesen was injured in the Super Modified crash at the Autodrome Drummond dirt track.

He was first transported to a hospital in Canada after officials cut the roof off the car to help remove the driver. He was then transferred to a hospital in New York for multiple surgeries.

Friesen has completed the extensive surgery. He’s now on a long road of recovery following pelvic fractures in addition to a leg fracture.

The next NASCAR Truck Series race is scheduled for next weekend at Watkins Glen International. Obliviously, Friesen is not in any condition to race the car.

Halmar Friesen Racing has selected Christopher Bell to drive the No. 54 truck for next weekend. Bell is the 2017 NASCAR Truck Series champion and currently runs full-time in the NASCAR Cup Series.
