NASCAR Cup Series drivers have unloaded on a Monday afternoon in Dover, Delaware. Following yesterday’s rainout, the field is set for a weekday race on the 1-mile of Dover Motor Speedway.

Stage 1 – Report

Laps: 120 (1-120 / 400)

Green flag, Kyle Busch gets the jump and he’s clear by two car lengths into turn one.

Lap 22, the first competition caution is out. The whole field heads for the pit lane.

Pit Penalty: Kyle Busch will drop to the rear for speeding on the pit lane.

Green, William Byron gets the jump and he leads Brad Keselowski off turn two. Noah Gragson spins off turn two, caution.

Green, Byron leads as Hamlin takes 2nd away via the outside lane. Suarez spins off turn four, Ty Dillon and BJ McLeod are collected. The caution is back out. Kyle Busch collects some nose damage as well.

Green, Byron clears Hamlin before turn one to hold the lead.

Lap 81, Kyle Larson was the fastest car on the track but he’s in the wall in turn one! Ross Chastain tagged Brennan Poole and Larson was collected.

Byron leads the field to the pit lane. Chastain wins the race to the pit exit with a two tire call. Kyle Busch stays outs.

Green, Byron works inside of Chastain off turn two. Byron clears Chastain in turn three and he returns to the lead.

William Byron wins stage one at Dover Motor Speedway!

Pit Penalty: Brad Keselowski will drop to the rear after an uncontrolled tire.

Green flag on stage two, Byron clears Blaney and holds the lead before turn one.

Lap 178, Ross Chastain boxes Blaney in behind a lap car, Chastain takes 2nd away. Byron leads by 1 second.

Lap 194, Chastain has caught the bumper of Byron. He drives right by via the outside lane. Byron heads for the pit lane. Chastain pits one lap later.

Lap 200, Chastain cycles back to the lead. Byron trails by 2 seconds.

Stage 3 – Report

Laps: 150 (251-400 / 400)

Chastain leads the field to the pit lane. Byron wins the race to the pit exit.

Green flag on stage three, Chastain and Byron run side by side into turn one. Byron noses ahead via the outside lane into turn three, Byron leads back to the line.

Lap 286, Chastain moves to the top to block a run from Martin Truex Jr. Chastain finds speed and he drives right by Byron to take the lead away.

Lap 332, the final green flag pit cycle is complete. Martin Truex Jr cycles to the race lead, Chastain trails by 0.5 seconds.

42 to go, Chastain has caught the bumper of Martin Truex Jr in the battle for the lead. Truex Jr moves up the track and takes the outside lane away as he’s on defense.

21 to go, Chastain struggles to lap Larson for another time. Truex Jr opens the gap to 1.5 seconds.

17 to go, Chastain struggles to lap Truex Jr’s teammate Ty Gibbs.

14 to go, Joey Logano slams the outside wall. The caution is out.

The 8 lead lap cars head for the pit lane. Truex Jr wins the race to pit exit with just two tires. Blaney and Bell also take just two.

Green with just 7 to go, Truex and Blaney run near even into turn one. Blaney drives it deep to the bottom in turn three. They remain side by side. Truex finally clears him at the return to turn one.

5 to go, Truex Jr leads as Chastain takes 2nd. Chastain has four fresh tires.

3 to go, Truex Jr leads Chastain by 0.5 seconds.
