Kansas Race Results: May 6, 2023 (ARCA Menards Series)

Race Report

Green flag, Jesse Love is clear into turn one.

Lap 4, Taylor Gray is all over the bumper of Mosack in the battle for 2nd. Gray gets loose off turn two but he drives it deep into turn three. With the backend stepped out, Gray slides to 2nd.

Lap 7, Matt Wilson spins and backs it into the turn four wall, caution.

Green, Love and Gray run side by side into turn one. Love pinches down on Gray, Gray gets loose and Love holds the lead off turn two.

Lap 14, Gray slides Love for the lead into turn one. He can’t clear him as Love hangs onto his right rear off the corner. Love holds the lead.

Lap 27, Sean Corr spins on his own in turn three just ahead of the race leaders, caution.

Green, Love and Gray run near even into turn one. Love has the momentum via the outside lane off turn two. Love leads into turn three.

Lap 47, Dean Thompson is on the bumper of Gray for 2nd. Gray gets loose off turn four, Thompson slides him but he can’t clear him into turn one.

Race break

Lap 51, the race break caution is out. The field is frozen as teams head for the pit lane.

Point leader Frankie Muniz is having issues on the pit lane. Slow stop for him as he stalled after hitting the kill switch and couldn’t get the car re-fired. He’ll restart at the rear. Muniz will go a lap down.

Green, Love and Gray run even into turn one and off turn two. Gray drives it deeper to the bottom in turn three, he slides up in front of Love. Gray to the lead!

Love crosses under Gray and they’re side by side once more. Love retakes the race lead back in turn one.

36 to go, Amber Balcaen gets loose off turn two and she hooks Jason Kitzmiller into the outside wall. The caution is out.

Green, Love and Gray run side by side into turn one once more. They trade side drafts and remain even.

As they return to turn one, Love pinches the entry of Gray. As they both loose momentum, Dean Thompson is on the gas around the top lane. Thompson drives by both of them off turn two!

25 to go

25 to go, Love slides Thompson for the lead in turn three.

24 to go, Sean Corr spins for the 2nd time, caution.

Green, Love is clear by two car lengths into turn one. Dean Thompson runs 2nd.

5 to go, Jesse love leads Thompson by 0.5 seconds.

3 to go, Taylor Gray gets loose and brushes the wall off turn two. No caution as he keeps rolling.

2 to go, Thompson is closing the gap to Love. They both run the outside lane, inches off the wall.

Jesse Love holds him off and he wins at Kansas Speedway!
