Tonight, the multi-day show comes to a close in Sarver, Pennsylvania. It’s the 13th annual Firecracker 100 from Lernerville Speedway.

Firecracker 100
Heat 1 – Report

Mike Norris and Darrell Lanigan set the front row in the first heat race of the night. Green, Lanigan leads into turn one.

Norris is looking for the lead. He enters high and is trying to cut under Lanigan on exit, it’s not working.

Final lap, the leaders run nose to tail around the top into turn one. Tyler Erb is slow off turn two! No caution, Erb coasts to a stop, he was 3rd.

Darrell Lanigan takes the win!

Heat 2 – Report

Mason Zeigler and Brandon Overton trail the pace truck ahead of heat two. Green, Zeigler gets the jump but Overton hangs on his right rear into turn one.

Caution. Zeigler jumped the start and will be sent back a row.

Green, McCreadie and Overton are even into turn one. Overton noses ahead off the top at the exit of turn two. McDowell has a look to the middle.

Lap 4, Overton leads McCreadie and McDowell. Zeigler slides McDowell for 3rd. Cade Dillard is around behind them and the caution is back out.

Green, Overton leads into turn one. Zeigler, McDowell and McCreadie run three wide for 2nd behind them. McDowell moves to 2nd.

Final lap, Overton leads. McDowell has a look on the bottom but can’t complete the pass.

Brandon Overton takes the win in heat two!

Heat 3 – Report

Brandon Sheppard and Chris Ferguson lead them to the flag stand in heat three. Green, Sheppard is clear before the line.

Lap 2, Davenport slides Ferguson for 2nd in turn one. Ferguson slides him back in turn three. Sheppard opens a gap. Davenport slides him once more back in turn one.

Lap 5, Boom Briggs is slow and the caution is out.

Green, Sheppard leads Davenport into turn one. Hawkins slides Ferguson for 3rd.

3 to go, car around in turn four. The caution is back out.

Green, Sheppard leads as they battle for 3 wide for a transfer spot behind him.

Final lap, Ferguson drives it deep to the bottom in turn three, he’s clear of Chub Frank. Ferguson slides just in front of the nose of David Scott. Ferguson gets a push across the finish line as he takes the final transfer spot.

Heat 4 – Report

Josh Richards and Shane Clanton head to the line in the final hear race of the weekend. Green, Richards leads. Weiss drives to 2nd in turn one.

Weiss is going for the lead in turn two. Richards holds him off as they run side by side back to the line. Richards drives it deep into turn one and holds the lead.

5 to go, Weiss is back on the bumper of Richards. He has a look on the bottom in turn three but can’t get it done.

2 to go, Blake Spencer jumps the cushion, exits the race track and the caution is out.

Green, Richards leads into turn one. Weiss and Clanton battle for 2nd.

Josh Richards wins the final heat race of the night!

Main Event – Report

100 laps of dirt late model racing are up next. Tonight’s race winner will hit the road with a check for $30,000.

The top four were set via a random draw. Brandon Sheppard and Josh Richards set the front row. The field lines up in a four wide salute for the Pennsylvania dirt racing crowd.

Green flag, Richards to the top, Sheppard through the middle and Lanigan to the bottom. They run three wide for the lead into turn one. Sheppard comes out with the lead.

Lap 12, Sheppard has caught the tail of the field. He leads Richards by 5 car lengths.

Lap 20, Richards has caught the back bumper of the race leader. They run nose to tail around the bottom. Lap traffic sits ahead.

Lap 30, Lanigan cuts deep to the inside in turn three. He bounces through the ruts but takes the 2nd position from Josh Richards.

Lap 38, Darrell Lanigan is on the bumper of the leader. Ricky Weiss has caught both of them.

Lap 45, Tim McCreadie has found speed around the top. The track is slick from top to bottom. McCreadie dips his right rear over the track to find grip. McCreadie runs 6th behind Davenport.

Lap 56, Lanigan is running lower than he has all race. It’s a rough ride down there but he’s making ground.

Lap 57, Lanigan knocks a rut in turn three, the car jacks sideways and Weiss has a run. Weiss slides him for 2nd in turn one.

Lap 60, Sheppard struggles with the lap cars off turn four. Weiss is coming with momentum off the top, he crosses under the leader. Weiss leads on the bottom into turn one.

Lap 83, Lanigan moves to 2nd. Weiss leads by almost 2 seconds. Weiss struggles to lap Chub Frank.

Lap 89, Weiss slides Frank. He opens the gap between him and Lanigan. Tim McCreadie moves to 3rd.

7 to go, lap cars run side by side ahead of Weiss. Lanigan is aggressive through the ruts in turn three. Weiss rubs the wall off turn four. Lanigan has a run on the leader into turn one. Lanigan slides Weiss into turn one, Lanigan takes the lead!

5 to go, Weiss is slow! He has a flat right rear and the caution is out.

Green, Lanigan heads to the bottom in turn one. McCreadie heads for the cushion. McCreadie stays on the top in turn three.

He has a run off the top of turn four, McCreadie crosses under him into turn one. They run door to door back into turn one. The caution is out.

Green, Lanigan launches through the bumps at the restart line. Lanigan heads to the top in turn one, he crosses under Lanigan off turn two. McCreadie leads into turn three.

2 to go, Lanigan runs through the bumps and pulls to the bumper of McCreadie. 1 to go, same thing. They run nose to tail into turn one for the final time.
