Today, it’s two rounds of practice and a qualifying session at Pocono Raceway. The Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series were first to the track for an early morning session.
The call it the tricky-triangle. The 2.5-mile race track in Long Pond, PA lived up to that title.

Kyle Larson tagged the wall in the opening round of practice. He got loose off turn two as he rolled through the bumps and got into the outside wall with the right rear.
He spun to the inside of the track and collected the inside wall with the nose of his car.
“I’m just disappointed in myself. This is two weeks in a row now that I’ve put my team in a bad spot. I hate that I did that,” Larson said after the crash.
Chase Elliott also caught the wall in practice. He got loose as well, chased it up the hill and caught the outside wall.
Elliott was able to keep it going straight after the contact. However, the car was still heavily damaged.
Both drivers will go to a backup car for the final round of practice shortly.
Meanwhile, Daniel Suarez kept it out of the fence and went to the top of the board to win the opening round of practice.
