Tonight will be the race number 72 of the 2019 season. Brad Sweet comes into the final race of the season, leading by just two points!

It’s the closest race in series history. Also, we’ve also never seen a change in the point leader on the final race, in WoO Sprints history.

Tonight’s race will determine the 2019 World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series championship. The defending champion, Donny Schatz finished 2nd in last night’s feature race and closed in on the championship battle. He was 8 points back coming into the weekend.

2019 World of Outlaws Championship Clinch Scenarios:

-If either driver wins the race, they win the championship.
-Sweet finishes ahead of Schatz, he wins the title.
-Schatz finishes one position ahead of Sweet, they tie. (Sweet wins off total number of wins tie-breaker)
-Schatz finishes two positions ahead of Sweet, he wins the championship.

Laps: 30

Jacob Allen and David Gravel set the front row as the field gets push started to the race track.

A championship is set to be decided. Point leader Brad Sweet rolls off 3rd. Donny Schatz will start from 8th.

The field lines up in a four wide salute for the North Carolina dirt racing crowd! They roll to the starting line ahead of the 30 lap main event…

Green flag, Allen gets the jump. Sweet slides Gravel for 2nd.

Gravel fights back on the inside in turn three. Carson Masedo spins behind them and the caution is out.

Green, Allen leads as Gravel holds 2nd. Sweet falls to 4th.

Gravel looks for the lead on the bottom in turn three. Behind them, car upside down off turn two and the red flag is out.

Green, Allen leads and heads for the top off turn two. Gravel rolls the top with momentum.

Gravel cuts to the bottom in turn three and pulls even with the leader.  Allen holds the lead on the top. Paul McMahan is upside down in turn four. The red flag is out once again.

Green, Allen leads Gravel. Schuchart jumps the cushion and Schatz grabs two more spots.

Allen fades and Gravel takes the lead.

Lap 6, Schatz drives around the outside of Sweet for 3rd off turn four. Sweet slides him into turn one and reclaims the spot.

Lap 19, Gravel leads Sweet by 15 car lengths.

Lap 20, slow car down the back and the caution is out.

Green, Gravel leads Sweet. Schatz falls to 4th off turn two but he reclaims 3rd in turn three.

Lap 25, Gravel leads Sweet by a mile. Schatz is closing on Sweet for 2nd.
