Daytona
Practice – Report

Duration: 50 minutes

5 minutes in, Brad Keselowski has picked up significant damage in the garage area without even making a single lap. The right side skirts are all tore up and there’s a hole in the door.

Keselowski was forced into the fence pole. It was the last turn before exiting the pit lane and getting onto the track. He hit the brakes but they did not work.

“The guy in front of me just stopped,” Keselowski radio.

The jack post was ripped out along with the exhaust pipes. However, the crew is going to work to fix it.

30 minutes remain, we’re seeing a lot more single car runs than we saw in the opening round of practice. Teams are working on qualifying.

22 minutes remain, William Byron is on a qualifying lap. The right sides are dragging the ground but he jumps to 6th.

Cole Custer is set to make his first Daytona 500 start. He sits 2nd on the time sheets so far.

15 minutes remain, Brad Keselowski is out of the car and putting in work on repairs. The driver has picked up the wrenches. He’s going to miss this entire session.

Bubba Wallace wins the final practice session of the day! He was in a group of three with Custer and Nemechek as he turned that lap.

Alex Bowman has the quickest lap of single car runs. He’s 4th on the board and just about everyone under him only made single car runs. 4th on back are pole practice speeds.
