They raced the hell out of these things last night. Now, with a new load of data to apply, teams will hit the 2.5-mile oval for yet another round of practice.

Daytona
Practice – Report

5 minutes in, Hendrick Motorsports hits the track all at once. Several other cars tag along. They’re getting dicey early in this session.

10 minutes in, they’re three wide now. Ricky Stenhouse Jr sits in the middle. He’s the polesitter for the Daytona 500.

15 minutes in, two groups are on the race track. One runs single file and it consists on the Ford drivers. The other group consists of mostly Chevrolets, they remains three wide.

Meanwhile, a third group has formed. It’s the Toyota group of five cars. Each manufacture is working on their own in this session.

The Toyota group jumps to the top of the board. They did it as they had a tow from Kyle Larson.

Halfway

Denny Hamlin wasn’t the last guy in the line when he went to the top of the board. However, he was on the bumper of Kyle Busch during that lap.

30 minutes in, the Toyota group have finally shut it down. They ran single file for 27-28 laps. Each of the Toyota groups shared time at the front and the back.

Denny Hamlin thinks he’s done practicing for the weekend.

15 minutes remain, the Chevrolet group is heading out for another session. They fan out two wide, almost emmediatly.

10 minutes remain, the Chevrolet group is running down the Ford group. As they catch that tow, William Byron jumps to the top of the times sheet.

5 minutes remain, the Chevrolet and Ford groups have become one. They mix it up, two by two.
