Stage 1 – Report

Laps: 80 (1-80 / 260)

Green flag, Elliott gets the jump on the inside lane and he’s clear by 5 car lengths into turn one.

Lap 12, Busch runs the high side in turn one. He has momentum off turn two. Elliott leaves the outside lane open but Busch still can’t pull alongside. A lap later, same Busch and Busch is there. Elliott holds him off in turn three. A lap later, same move and this time, Busch drives right by and he’s clear into turn three.

Competition Caution

Lap 26, the competition caution is out.

The entire field hits the pit lane. Hamlin wins the race to the pit exit.

Green, Hamlin clears Busch into turn one. Busch hangs into his left rear into turn three and Busch is there in turn four. Side by side for the lead.

As they trade side drafts at the front, crash behind them. Cody Ware gets loose and chases it up the hill. They were four wide as it happened and run out of room quick. Ricky Stenhouse Jr and Daniel Suarez both get spun and make contact with the inside wall. The caution is back out.

Green, Busch gets the jump on the inside lane. Hamlin holds off Logano for 2nd.

Lap 60, Kyle Busch works lap traffic as his brother Kurt Busch is closing.

Kyle Busch holds him off and wins stage one at Atlanta Motor Speedway!

Stage 2 – Report

Laps: 80 (81-160 / 260)

The field hits the pit lane. Kyle Busch leads them to the pit entry but Kurt Busch wins the race to the pit exit.

Harvick picks up damage leaving his pit box. He’s forced to return to the pit lane to repair damage.

Green flag on stage two, Kurt Busch clears them into turn one. Hamlin gives a huge push to Kyle Busch and Kyle holds 2nd.

Lap 91, Tyler Reddick works to the outside of Kyle Busch. He sidedrafts, pulls him back and Reddick moves to 2nd.

Pit cycle

Lap 119, green flag pit stops are underway as DiBenedetto and Byron hit the pit lane. Lap 120, Hamlin to the pits. Kyle Busch pits a lap later. Lap 122, Kurt Busch to the pit lane.

Lap 132, Kurt Busch drives by Preece and Almirola who have yet to pit and he cycles back to the lead. Kyle Busch trails by 3 seconds.

15 to go in stage two, Kurt Busch has opened the gap to over 4 seconds.

Pit Penalty: Denny Hamlin has been caught speeding.

A piece of the track is coming up on the front stretch. The red flag is out as track crews work to plug the hole.

Green flag on stage three, Kurt Busch leads into turn one as they form three wide for 2nd. Alex Bowman takes 2nd away.

Lap 172, Kyle Busch works to the outside of Bowman in turn one. They trade side drafts down the back but Bowman holds him off in turn three. A lap later, Kyle Busch slides Bowman in turn three and he takes 2nd away.

60 to go, Kurt Busch leads Kyle Busch by 1 second.

57 to go, Kurt Busch struggles with lap traffic and Kyle Busch closes to within three car lengths.

Pit cycle

49 to go, Kyle Busch pits from 2nd and many others follow. Kurt Busch pits from the lead a lap later.

48 to go, Kyle Busch cycles to the race lead. Kurt Busch trails by 1.2 seconds.

Pit Penalty: Kyle Larson has been caught speeding and he’ll serve a pass-through penalty.

30 to go, Kyle Busch leads Kurt Busch by 0.5 seconds. Kurt is exploring lanes.

25 to go

25 to go, the lap car of Ross Chastain puts Kyle Busch in dirty air! Chastain was running low, as Kyle went high, so did Chastain. Kurt Busch pulls even with Kyle in a hurry. They run door to door for the lead and rub slightly off turn four. Side by side in turn one but Kurt Busch clears him back in turn three.

12 to go, Kurt Busch leads but Kyle has closed to within three car lengths. Kyle runs right against the outside wall as Kurt is glued to the bottom.

11 to go, Kurt Busch moves to the top lane and puts Kyle in dirty air.

7 to go, Kyle Busch runs inches from the wall and build momentum off turn four. Kyle dives to the bottom in turn one and nearly clears Kurt but he falls to 2nd, Kurt holds the lead.

5 to go, Kurt leads Kyle by 10 car lengths. Kyle is fading.
