Stage 1 – Report

Laps: 75 (1-75 / 301)

Green flag, Kyle Busch gets the jump and he’s clear before turn one.

Lap 5, it’s starting to rain. Drivers are chasing the rear end at the corner.

Lap 6, Kyle Busch is on the brakes and sliding in the rain! He slams the wall! Martin Truex Jr also tags the wall. Hamlin spins and Bowman makes contact with him. Chaos as the track is wet! The red flag is out.

Kyle Busch is out of the race as the team puts the car in the hauler.

About an hour later…

Cars are back on the track. They coast under yellow and this will be the competition caution. Trouble for Logano as the crew lifted the hood under red. Logano will go two laps down.

Chase Elliott takes over the lead of the race.

Green, Elliott and Kurt Busch run side by side into turn one. Busch wins the battle via the outside lane! Christopher Bell is all over both of them.

Lap 25, Elliott has a run on Busch into turn one. He drives it deep to the inside, slides the rear and clears Busch in the process. Christopher Bell follows him through.

Lap 32, Anthony Alfredo spins off turn four after getting loose under Bubba Wallace. Alfredo tags the wall and the caution is out.

Green, Elliott noses ahead on the inside of turn one. Bell powers even via the outside lane off turn two. They cross into turn three. Elliott holds the lead.

Cody Ware spins behind them, no caution.

Lap 64, Blaney has climbed to the bumper of Elliott in the battle for the lead. Blaney backs up his entry to turn one and gets the drive off the corner. He looks to the inside in turn three, clear. Bell follows him through.

Lap 70, Blaney leads Elliott by 1.2 seconds.

The field heads for the pit lane. Harvick wins the race to the pit exit and Hamlin is off 2nd. Slow stop for Blaney as he’s off 6th.

Green flag on stage two, Harvick gets a huge jump as Hamlin spins the tires. Reddick takes over 2nd.

Lap 84, Elliott works to the outside of Reddick and takes 2nd away.

Lap 100, Harvick leads Elliott by 1.2 seconds. He’s opening the gap.

Lap 128

Lap 128, Quin Houff is in the wall with some help from Ryan Newman and the caution is out.

The field hits the pit lane. Harvick wins the race to the pit exit.

Green, Harvick clears Hamlin into turn one.

Lap 137, Elliott leans on Almirola for 4th. Larson looks inside of both of them.

Lap 139, Bubba Wallace spins on his own off turn two. Chris Buescher drives right into the side of him as Wallace slides across the track. The caution is out.

Green, Harvick leads as Hamlin struggles on restarts. Brad Keselowski moves to 2nd.

Lap 146, Keselowski has a run on Harvick off turn two. He dives to the inside in turn three, clear. Keselowski leads Harvick.

10 to go in stage two, Keselowski leads Harvick by 2 seconds.

Stage 3 – Report

Laps: 116 (161-301 / 301)

Green flag on stage three, Harvick shoves Keselowski on the outside lane. Keselowski clears Blaney off turn two.

Lap 198, Blaney backs up his entry to get a run off turn two. Blaney dives to the inside in turn three, clear. Blaney leads Keselowski.

Lap 199, Keselowski fights back by leaning on his rear bumper. Keselowski to the inside but he can’t clear him.

Lap 200, Keselowski leans on his bumper, Blaney gets loose and chases it up the hill. Keselowski lifts and gives the spot back to his teammate, Blaney still leads.

Lap 205, Keselowski slides Blaney for the lead in turn three. Blaney crosses under him off turn four and retakes the lead into turn one.

Lap 207, Keselowski gets into the rear bumper of Blaney once again. Blaney holds the lead.

75 to go, Blaney leads Keselowski by 1.1 seconds.

65 to go, Almirola looks to the inside of Keselowski for 2nd. He slides him in turn one, clear.

62 to go, Almirola has closed right to the bumper of Blaney.

58 to go, Blaney wiggles into turn one and Almirola looks to his inside. Side by side, Blaney holds him off via the outside lane.

56 to go, Almirola has another run off turn two. He looks inside, slides him in turn three and clear. Almirola takes over the lead.

Pit cycle

52 to go, green flag pit stops are underway as Almirola pits from the race lead.

43 to go, DiBenedetto leads with Byron is 2nd, both haven’t pitted. Almirola and Keselowski run side by side for 3rd. Almirola works to his outside and drives by to take the spot. This will be the battle for the win.

33 to go, DiBenedetto leads Almirola by 8 seconds. Almirola is closing quickly but the sun is also going down and the speedway doesn’t have lights.

28 to go, DiBenedetto hits the pit lane. Almirola now leads Bell by 1.6 seconds.

20 to go, Almirola leads Bell by 1.2 seconds. However, NASCAR has made the call to shorten this race and there’s now just 10 laps to go as it’s getting too dark to race.

8 to go, Almirola struggles to put Austin Dillon a lap down. Bell closes slightly.

5 to go, Almirola doors Dillon and he’s back in clean air. Bell trails by just 0.6 seconds.

4 to go, Almirola is back on the bumper of Kurt Busch to put him a lap down. Busch pulls over and lets him go.

Aric Almirola holds him off to win at New Hampshire Motor Speedway!
