Stage 1 – Report

Laps: 20 (1-20/72)

Green flag, Hill and Gilliland run near even into turn one. They run three wide for 3rd behind them! John Hunter Nemechek cuts across the track and spins Ben Rhodes into turn one. Chandler Smith is also collected, no caution.

Hill leads them up the hill in turn two. Gilliland is all over his bumper.

Lap 2, Tate Fogleman spins through the bus stop, no caution. Tyler Ankrum has a flat and he hits the pit lane under green.

Lap 5, Gilliland has a run on Hill off turn 6. He looks to the outside in turn seven, uses every inch of the track at the corner exit and takes the lead on the outside lane!

Lap 7, the caution is out. Many hit the pit lane from outside the top 10.

Green, Gilliland and Hill run side by side into turn one. Gilliland wins the race into turn one. Eckes spins behind them, no caution.

Lap 15, Gilliland leads Creed by nearly 2 seconds.

Lap 17, Matt Crafton spins in the bus stop with help from Austin Wayne Self. Bobby Reuse spins out of turn five, no caution. Crafton to the pits.

Todd Gilliland wins stage one at Watkins Glen International!

Stage 2 – Report

Laps: 25 (21-45/72)

Gilliland and the rest of the leaders hit the pit lane. Gilliland wins the race to the pit exit but he’ll restart 11th and 10 stay out. Jack Wood and Carson Hocevar lead them to the restart.

Green flag on stage two, Hocevar leads into turn one, he runs wide at the exit but he holds the lead into turn two. Zane Smith to 2nd.

Lap 25, Hocevar gets loose out of turn 7. Smith has a run and looks to the inside in turn one, Smith leads.

Lap 27, Tannery Gray spins through the bus stop with help from Derek Kraus.

Back at the front, Sam Mayer is on the bumper of Smith for the lead. He looks to his outside but can’t complete the pass. As they slow each other down, Austin Hill joins the battle and takes 2nd away from Mayer.

Lap 29, Hill has a run on Smith into the bus stop, clear. Austin Hill returns to the lead.

4 to go in stage two

4 to go in stage two, Zane Smith, Sam Mayer and others hit the pit lane.

3 to go, Austin Hill pits from the lead. Many others follow.

2 to go, Nemechek pits from the lead. Austin Hill returns to the race lead as the whole field has pitted.

Stage 3 – Report

Laps: 27 (46-72/72)

Green flag on stage three, Hill leads Nemechek into turn one. Smith and Nemechek rubs doors and fight for space into turn two. Nemechek clears him up the hill, by inches.

19 to go, Derek Kraus spins with some help out of turn five. He comes to a stop in the grass and the caution is out.

Green, Hill leads into turn one as Nemechek and Creed run door to door for 2nd. Nemechek pinches him up the hill and claims the 2nd spot.

11 to go, the red flag is out for sprinkles of rain and lightning. NASCAR has pulled the field to the pit lane.

About an hour later, the race has been called. Austin Hill wins at Watkins Glen International!
