Tonight, the NASCAR Cup Series unloads at Bristol Motor Speedway in Tennessee. The 0.533-mile oval is set to host a playoff elimination race with only 12 of the 16 drivers advancing out of this event.

Stage 1 – Report

Laps: 125 (1-125 / 500)

Green flag, Truex Jr is clear into turn one. Hamlin and Elliott remain side by side for 2nd, Elliott takes the spot on the outside lane.

Lap 6, Truex can;t hold it on the bottom. He wiggles and Elliott works inside to take over the race lead.

Lap 41, the competition caution is out.

Pit stops

Slow stop for Logano as he drops from 3rd to 22nd following an air hose issue.

Green, Elliott leads Larson off turn two.

Lap 56, Larson can’t hold it on the bottom. Hamlin looks under him and takes 2nd away.

Lap 84, Larson has caught the bumper of Elliott. The leader works heavy lap traffic. Larson works to his inside and pins him behind the lap car, Larson to the lead.

Lap 91, Hamlin works to the outside of Larson. They run three wide with lap traffic, Hamlin to the lead via the outside lane.

5 to go in stage one, Larson has caught the bumper of Hamlin in the battle for the lead. They run nose to tail around the top. Hamlin dives to the bottom to lap Bubba Wallace but Wallace also cut to the bottom. Larson has the lane wide open on the top. Larson noses ahead but Hamlin fights back to clear him and hold the lead.

Stage 2 – Report

Laps: 125 (125-250 / 500)

Larson wins the race to the pit exit.

Pit Penalty: Chase Elliott will go to the tail after speeding on the pit lane.

Green flag on stage two, Larson is clear into turn one as Hamlin spins the tires on the inside. Brad Keselowski takes over 2nd.

Lap 138, Keselowski dives inside of Larson into turn one. Larson gives him the inside lane, Keselowski takes over the lead.

Lap 145, Hamlin runs the top to build momentum. He dives to the inside of Keselowski in turn three, Hamlin to the lead.

Lap 168, Ryan Newman clears himself on Custer, not clear. He turns himself into the outside wall. Daniel Suarez is also caught in it as Wallace drives into his rear bumper.

Pit stops

Hamlin leads the field to the pit lane. Larson wins the race to the pit exit.

Black flag for Almirola as smoke trails his machine. He hits the pit lane under yellow. The crew changes an oil line and he doesn’t even lose a lap!

Green, Larson leads Hamlin off turn two.

Lap 220, Anthony Alfredo gets turned by Corey LaJoie. Alfredo bounces off the wall and collects BJ McLeod along with Justin Haley. The caution is out.

Green, Larson clears Keselowski into turn one. Hamlin follows him through on the outside to take 2nd away.

Lap 237, Hamlin leans on the rear bumper of Larson in the battle for the lead. Hamlin moves to the outside but he can’t complete the pass.

Stage 3 – Report

Laps: 250 (251-500 / 500)

Larson leads the field to the pit lane. Logano wins the race to the pit exit with a two tire call. Larson restarts 8th as 7 stay out.

Green flag on stage three, Kevin Harvick clears Christopher Bell into turn one.

Lap 265, Ryan Blaney dives to the inside of Harvick. He clears him with ease, Blaney leads.

Lap 308, Blaney runs wide and Harvick clears him on the inside. Harvick returns to the lead.

Lap 336, Larson has climbed to the bumper of Harvick in the battle for the lead. Harvick runs the outside as Larson rolls the inside. He pins him behind a lap car, Larson to the lead.

Lap 363, Quin Houff loses a tire and the caution is out.

Pit stops

Larson leads the field to the pit entry and the pit exit.

Green, Larson leads Hamlin into turn one. Byron gets shoved up the banking and nearly tags the wall but they all keep it rolling.

Lap 388, Quin Houff cuts a tire and slams the wall. The caution is out.

Green, Larson is clear into turn one as Hamlin takes 2nd.

Lap 398, Hamlin dives inside of Larson. Hamlin runs wide and rubs Larson off the corner. Trouble! Hamlin has a flat right front into turn one. He’s in the wall, caution.

Green, Larson leads into turn one with Elliott all over his bumper. He leans on his rear bumper but can’t get by.

88 to go, Larson gets loose and Elliott works to his inside. Elliott to the lead.

62 to go, Harvick has climbed to the bumper of Elliott. Harvick is rolling the top and coming to the front as Elliott rolls the inside lane. Elliott switches his line, takes the top away and Harvick dives to the bottom.

50 to go, Harvick remains all over the bumper of Elliott in the battle for the lead. They slice through lap traffic in sync.

45 to go, Kyle Busch has a flat right front. He hits the pit lane under green. He goes two laps down and he’s only +2 on the playoff cutline as it is.

36 to go

36 to go, Kyle Busch is racing with the leaders in attempt to get one of his laps back. Elliott and Harvick run three wide through lap traffic. Harvick clears him.

Elliott fights back on the outside. Harvick gets loose, chases it up the banking and doors him. Harvick takes over the lead. Elliott hits the pit lane under green for for 4 tires.

Elliott is back on track but three laps down. He passes Harvick to make it just two laps and rubs him in frustration.

26 to go, Bell has a flat tire with fender damage. He hits the pit lane under green!

10 to go, Harvick leads Larson by 0.8 seconds.

6 to go, Harvick struggles to lap Chase Elliott. Larson closes right to the bumper of Harvick in the battle for the win.

4 to go, Larson slides Harvick in turn three. He slides right across his nose, clear. Harvick sloves Larson into turn one. Larson wiggles but he holds the lead!
