NASCAR truck race results from Talladega Superspeedway
Today, the NASCAR Truck Series opens the race weekend in Talladega, Alabama. The 2.5-mile of Talladega Superspeedway is set to host the Chevrolet Silverado 250.

Talladega Truck Race
Stage 1 – Report
Laps: 20 (1-20 / 94)
Green flag, Rhodes is clear before turn one on the inside. The outside lane drops back early.
Lap 2, Gilliland has momentum on the outside back in turn one. He gets a push and clears Rhodes to take over the lead.
Lap 5, the inside lane has rebuilt their momentum. Rhodes returns to the lead with Crafton on his bumper.
Lap 13, the top 8 run single file around the bottom.
Lap 14, Nemechek cuts from the top to the bottom. He’s not clear as he cuts across the nose of Sauter. Nemechek gets sideways but saves it!
Lap 15
Lap 15, Nemechek moves back to the top and he leads the train. Nemechek is pushed to the lead. Rhodes fights back on the inside, side by side for the lead.
3 to go in stage one, the outside lane has dissipated. Rhodes leads Crafton on the inside.
1 to go, the outside lane is building speed. Austin Hill jumps up to lead the outside lane. He pulls alongside Rhodes. Side by side to the line.

Stage 2 – Report
Laps: 20 (21-40 / 94)
Rhodes leads them to the pit entry but Nemechek wins the race to the pit exit. Fuel only for the top 6. Slow stop for Gilliland as he has an issue.
Green flag on stage two, Nemechek and Crafton run side by side off turn two. Crafton clears him via the outside lane.
Lap 29, Bryan Dauzat spins off turn two and slams the inside wall. The caution is out.
Green, Nemechel and Crafton run even. Rhodes pushes Nemechek clear on the inside lane.
Crafton fights back on the outside. Crafton clears Nemechel and drops to the bottom to lead the inside lane.
4 to go in stage two, Sauter bumps Crafton off turn two. Crafton gets loose and catches it on the apron. Crafton falls outside the top 10. Sheldon Creed takes over the lead.
3 to go, Nemechek crosses under Creed off turn four. Nemechek to the lead on the inside.
2 to go, Sauter and Creed split Nemechek down the back stretch. Nemechek falls outside the top 10.
1 to go, Creed and Sauter run side by side for the stage win.

Stage 3 – Report
Laps: 54 (41-94 / 94)
Creed leads the field to the pit entry. Creed is off in 10th. Austin Hill, Tanner Gray and many others take just two tires. Chase Purdy stayed out.
Green flag on stage three, Gill and Purdy run even into turn one. Gilliland pushes Hill clear on the outside of turn two.
45 to go, Zane Smith pushes Bret Holmes to the lead. They form side by side at the front. Holmes takes over the lead via the inside lane.
Big crash
37 to go, big crash! Austin Hill gets hooked from a bump draft. He’s turned across the track from the bottom lane to the outside. Hill collects Zane Smith who was leading the outside lane. Smith and Hill bounces off the outside wall and back across traffic. 15+ trucks are involved.
The leaders hit the pit lane. Gilliland wins the race to the pit exit, Creed in 2nd.
Green, Gilliland is clear on the inside lane. The top 5 form single file around the bottom.
19 to go, Grant Enfinger looks to the outside of Gilliland off turn four. Creed looks to the outside of Enfinger in the process but Enfinger throws a block. Enfinger spins across the track following the block and several more trucks are collected. The caution is back out.
Only half the field remains on the track.
Green, Gilliland and Crafton run side by side into turn one. Gilliland noses ahead on the inside lane.
7 to go, Gilliland leads Rhodes as the top 5 five run single file and break away.
4 to go, Gilliland leads as the top 10 run in a train along the inside lane.
3 to go, they remain single file at the front.
2 to go, Purdy and move leave the bottom and head for the outside. Holmes pushes Purdy to the lead on the outside. They’re forming three wide.
Purdy gets turned off turn four as he throws a block on Gilliland. The caution is out. We’re heading into overtime.
NASCAR Overtime
Gilliland now has a hole in his right front headlight. He’ll lead them to the restart with damage. Rhodes lines up to the outside.
Green, Gilliland and Rhodes run even into turn one. Holmes pushes Rhodes clear into turn three but he doesn’t move down, Gilliland pulls back even.
1 to go, Rhodes and Gilliland rubs doors through the tri-oval. Gilliland noses ahead off turn two with a push from Nemechek.
Crash behind the leaders in turn three.
Nemechek forces his way inside of Gilliland off turn four. Nemechek leads coming to the line.
Tate Fogleman spins Nemechek just before the finish line! Tate Fogleman wins at Talladega Superspeedway!
