Placerville Speedway results from night one at the bullring dirt track in California
Tonight, it’s the first of three nights of the Hangtown 100 in Placerville, California. The 1/4-mile bullring of Placerville Speedway is set to host the USAC National Midget Series.

Race Payout: Points are collected over the three day show. The highest point earner wins $12,000. Additionally, Saturday’s feature finale pays $20,000 to win.
Chase Elliott was scheduled to run this event along with Kyle Larson. Larson is in the field but Elliott was forced to skip tonight’s portion of the race due to Next Gen testing in Charlotte.
Tonight, $5,000 is on the line in a preliminary feature. A win comes with a load of points that help the driver throughout the weekend.

Green flag, Ryan Timms gets the jump and he’s clear into turn one.
Lap 5, Timms is on the cushion and driving away from the field. He leads Wise by 3 seconds. However, he’s closing on the tail of the field.
Lap 12, Timms has caught the tail of the field. He slices through the field.
Lap 15, McIntosh has taken over 2nd. He’s closing on Timms as the gap is just 1.1 seconds.
Lap 19, McIntosh is trying to take the lap cars three wide on a narrow track. They run side by side ahead of him. McIntosh finally clears them.
10 to go, McIntosh is closing on Timms in a hurry!
6 to go, Timms leads by 0.5 seconds. Both runs run the cushion the full length of the track.
3 to go, Timms has caught another group of lap cars. McIntosh closes to within two car lengths!
