NASCAR truck race results from Atlanta Motor Speedway

Today, the NASCAR Truck Series is set for the green flag at Atlanta Motor Speedway. It’s the first race on the completely reconfigured 1.54-mile track in Georgia.

Chandler Smith and Stewart Friesen line up on the front row. 135 laps of truck racing are up next.

Stage 1 – Report

Laps: 30 (1-30 / 135)

Green flag, Smith noses ahead on the inside lane into turn one. Friesen has help with a push from DiBenedetto and momentum off turn two, Friesen to the lead.

Matt DiBenedetto looks to the outside of Friesen into turn three! He makes light contact with his right rear and DiBendetto skates up the banking. He brushes the wall in turn three.

Lap 2, Matt DiBenedetto has cut a tire and he slams the wall. No caution as he coasts to the pit lane.

Lap 7, Colby Howard pushes on the bumper of Hailie Deegan. Deegan gets completely sideways into turn three but she saves it. She heads for the pit lane under green with a tire issue.

Lap 20, Friesen leads Enfinger as the top 10 have formed single file through the middle lane.

1 to go in stage one, Friesen holds the lead. The bottom lane is forming and making a charge but they’re running out of time. Grant Enfinger leaves the bumper of Friesen and cuts to his inside off turn four. They drag race to the line.

Stage 2 – Report

Laps: 30 (31-60 / 135)

Friesen leads the field to the pit lane. Christian Eckes wins the race to the pit exit.

Green flag on stage two, Eckes noses ahead on the outside lane into turn one. Friesen pulls even on the inside off turn two. Nemechek pushes Friesen to the lead into turn three.

Lap 43, Derek kraus leads the inside lane but his ill handling truck is loose. Kraus pulls out of line and drops to the back.

Lap 46, Blaine Perkins runs wide off turn two and brushes the wall. He heads to the pit under green with a tire rub.

11 to go, caution.

Friesen pits from the race lead and he’ll restart outside the top 20. Many others stay out, Nemechek will take over the race lead.

Green, Nemechek and Majeski run even into turn one. Nemechek noses ahead on the outside lane into turn three. Majeski pulls back even off turn four.

4 to go in stage two, Smith pushes Majeski clear into turn three!

2 to go in stage two, John Hunter Nemechek cuts to the inside into turn three. He pulls even with Majeski. With a push from Smith, Nemechek leads.

1 to go in stage two, caution for debris.

Stage 3 – Report

Laps: 75 (61-135 / 135)

Nemechek heads for the pit lane as many stay out. Friesen takes over the lead, Nemechek restarts 8th.

Green flag on stage three, Friesen and Enfinger run even off turn two. Enfinger runs him wide off turn four, Enfinger to the lead.

Lap 68, Dean Thompson gets loose. He slides up the track and collects Christian Eckes. Lawless Alan is collected and the caution is out.

Green, Enfinger and Rhodes run even off turn two. Friesen pushes Enfinger clear to the lead off turn four on the outside lane.

Lap 79, Tate Fogleman spins from 15th, caution.

Pit stops

Enfinger leads them to the pit lane. Slow stop for Enfinger as he runs over equipment. Ben Rhodes wins the race to the pit exit with fuel only. Preece, Hill, Zane Smith Fogleman and Heim stay out.

Green, Heim noses ahead on the inside lane off turn two. Heim moves to the top and blocks a run from Preece.

45 to go, Tate Fogleman and Jordan Anderson tangle. Heavy damage for both and the caution is back out.

Green, Majeski pushes Ben Rhodes clear into turn one via the inside lane.

35 to go

35 to go, Kris Wright has cut a tire and tagged the wall, caution.

Green, Rhodes and Heim run even. They remain side by side for several laps. Heim finally clears him via the inside lane. Heim jumps to the outside lane to block and hold the lead.

24 to go, Chandler Smith leads a charge on the inside lane. He pulls even but can’t complete the pass. John Hunter Nemechek brushes the wall behind them. Nemechek heads to the pit lane under green.

21 to go, Smith has a run into turn three. He drives it deep to the bottom and clears him! Smith moves to the outside lane to block.

15 to go, the top 5 have formed single file through the middle lane. Chandler Smith leads Corey Heim.

5 to go, the top 10 cars all run bumper to bumper and single file around the outside lane.

1 to go, they remain single file at the line. Heim cuts to the inside lane into turn one! Smith is hung out to dry.

Heim blocks both lanes off turn four.

Corey Heim wins at Atlanta Motor Speedway.
