Today, the NASCAR Cup Series unloads in Austin, Texas. The 3.4-mile Circuit of the Americas road course is set to host the Echopark Automotive Group Grand Prix.

COTA Race
Stage 1 – Report

Laps: 15 (1-15 / 68)

Green flag, Blaney and Suarez run near even into turn one. Suarez runs wide out of the corner and Blaney leads the field into the esses.

Suarez has a run into turn 11. He throws it in deep and clears Blaney to take the race lead. Blaney fights back into turn 12 but can’t reclaim the spot.

Lap 10, Suarez leads Blaney and Reddick by 1 second.

Lap 11, Kyle Busch spins, no caution.

2 to go, many of the leaders head for the pit lane. Suarez, Blaney, Bowman and 9 others stay out.

Pit Penalty: Austin Dillon and Ty Dillon have both been penalized after pit stops.

Daniel Suarez wins stage 1 at Circuit of the Americas!

Suarez heads for the pit lane. Austin Cindric cycles to the race lead.

Green flag on stage two, Cindric noses ahead into turn one as Chastain looks to his inside. Cindric leads the field into turn two. Daniel Suarez spins back in turn one as they ran five wide through the corner! Suarez has a flat left rear. Kyle Larson spins moments later.

Chastain has a run on Cindric into turn 12. They run side by side through the corner. Cindric runs him wide off the corner to hold the lead.

Lap 19, AJ Allmendinger rubs doors with Cole Custer to take 5th away. Allmendinger has charged to the front from the back of the field.

4 to go in stage two, Chastain is all over the bumper of Cindric in the battle for the lead.

3 to go, Chastain takes the lead away from Cindric. Seconds later, Cindric, Chastain, Allmendinger and Reddick all hit the pit lane. Hamlin takes over the lead.

Pit Penalty: William Byron is caught speeding.

Denny Hamlin stays out and takes the stage two win at COTA!

Stage 3 – Report

Laps: 38 (31-68 / 68)

Hamlin and the rest of the leaders head for the pit lane. Joey Logano and Ryan Blaney stay out.

Green flag on stage three, Logano leads into turn one. He hits the brakes and the car jumps sideways! Logano and Blaney both run wide, Chastain takes over the lead.

Lap 32, Austin Cindric spins through turn 10 after jumping the curb, no caution.

Lap 33, the caution is out for debris.

Green, Chastain runs Allmendinger wide through turn one. Chastain leads the field into turn two.

31 to go, Christopher Bell heads for the pit lane under green with a steering issue.

28 to go, Allmendinger is all over the bumper of Chastain and looking for the lead.

27 to go

27 to go, the caution is out as Erik Jones has stalled.

The entire field hits the pit lane. Chastain is 1st in and 1st off. Allmendinger has to back up to leave his stall, he exits in 5th.

Green, Chastain runs Briscoe wide off turn one. Chastain holds the lead into turn two. Briscoe has a run on Chastain, he dives to the inside, clear. Chastain leans on the rear bumper of Chastain but can’t retake the spot.

Briscoe runs wide. Chastain back to the lead.

24 to go, Briscoe works back to his inside in turn 20 and they run side by side into turn one, Briscoe back to the lead once more.

Bubba Wallace has lost a wheel! The caution is back out.

Green, Briscoe clears Chastain in turn one. Chastain has a run into turn 10, he looks to the inside, light contact and Chastain returns to the lead.

16 to go, Cindric is on the bumper of Chastain and looking for the lead. As he searches for a way by, he slips and Allmendinger takes 2nd away.

15 to go

15 to go, Ricky Stenhouse Jr is stalled on the track. Many cars are heading for the pits anticipating a caution. Moments later, the caution is out.

Hamlin pits from 6th, Larson from 11th and many others do the same. Larson will restart 25th with 11 laps to go.

Green, Chastain tries to block into turn one but Briscoe forces his way inside. Light contact and Chastain leads Reddick into turn two. Briscoe makes more contact and he’s forced off line, he falls to 7th.

Cindric gets turned and he collects Kaz Grala, no caution.

11 to go, Corey LaJoie has dropped oil on the track and the caution is out. Briscoe hits the pit lane.

Green, Chastain runs Allmendinger well wide into turn one. Chastain holds the lead once more. Cole Custer spins behind them, no caution.

9 to go, Hamlin spins from 22nd, no caution.

6 to go, Chastain leads Allmendinger by a car length. Loris Hezemans stalls, caution.

Green, Chastain runs Allmendinger wide into turn one. They make light contact and Tyler Reddick takes over the lead! Joey Logano spins behind them, caution.

Green, Reddick leads out of turn one. Chastain leans on his bumper and works alongside. They fight for space into the esses, Chastain back to the lead! Allmendiger quickly moves back to 2nd.

Alex Bowman looks to the inside of Reddick into turn 11. Bowman to 3rd.

1 to go, Chastain leads Allmendinger by 6 car lengths.

Allmendinger closes to the bumper of Chastain into turn 11! He’s there! Chastain throws a block and Allmendinger leans on him! Chastain gets back to the bumper of Allmendinger. Bowman to the lead!

Chastain dive bombs Allmendinger and shoves him into Bowman. Bowman and Allmendinger both run wide. Chastain takes over the lead.
