Practice 1 Report
Duration: 60 minutes
In the early moments of the session, drivers are coasting around as they take their first laps around the new track.
55 minutes remain, many drivers have spun out. The new track surface is slick.
50 minutes remain, Max Verstappen has brushed the wall exiting turn 15. Light contact and minimal damage.
38 minutes remain, Haas F1 drivers Kevin Magnussen and Mick Schumacher are both in the garage with mechanical issues. They’re both rolling back to the track. They’re early laps were several seconds off the rest of the field.
Penalty: Black and white flag for Lance Stroll.
Max Verstappen is in the garage as the team works through minor overheating issues.

Tsunoda responds to questions from his garage, “I don’t know. Just let me drive.”
25 minutes remain, Bottas is around and stuck in the turn 7 barrier. “Sorry guys,” driver radio. The red flag is out as the car has heavy damage.
13 minutes remain, Carlos Sainz spins on his opening lap in turn four with soft tires. He coasts around the track with a flat right front after the lockup. No contact with the wall.
10 minutes remain, Albon jumps to 2nd on the board.
Leclerc tops the practice session with a 1:31.098.
