Stage 1 – Report

Kansas Speedway - NASCAR Cup Series

Laps: 80 (1-80 / 267)

Green flag, they run side by side into turn one and off turn two. Bell completes the pass on the outside in turn three, Bell leads back to the line.

Lap 6, Chase Briscoe spins off turn four, caution.

Green, Bell washes up the track into turn one. Reddick to the lead as Larson takes over 2nd.

Lap 25, Hamlin has climbed from the tail of the field to 15th.

Lap 36, BJ McLeaod spins and the caution is out.

Larson leads to the pit lane but he’s off in 10th! Bell wins the race to the pit exit. Justin Haley has a small fire on his machine and the left rear has come off, after the stop.

Pit Penalties: Austin Cindric, Denny Hamlin, Austin Dillon and JJ Yeley will go to the rear for pit violations.

Green, Bell leads Kyle Busch.

Lap 62

Lap 62, Daniel Suarez spins from 4th with a flat left rear. He tags the outside wall and the caution is out.

Christopher Bell has a flat left rear on the caution! The leader is rolling behind the pace car but on the apron.

Stenhouse, Austin Dillon and LaJoie stay out. rik Jones takes two tires and wins the race to the pit exit. Busch is off 2nd, the first with four.

Green, Kyle Busch and Ross Chastain split the cars that stayed out, in a hurry. Busch to the lead.

Slow stop for Kyle Busch as he’s off in 10th. Chase Elliott wins the race to the pit exit. The crew is struggling to get the lugnut off on Erik Jones’ machine. He sits on pit lane as they roll to the restart.

Pit Penalty: Hamlin, Wallace, Suarez and Elliott will drop to the rear.

Green flag on stage two, Chastain and Truex Jr run side by side for the lead. Byron has a run on both of them off turn four. Byron cuts to the apron and takes over the lead back at the line.

Lap 113

Lap 113, William Byron has a flat left rear! He pits under green and hands the lead to Kurt Busch.

Lap 116, Tyler Reddick has a flat tire and he tags the wall. No caution, he heads for the pits. He brushed the wall a lap earlier.

Lap 126, Kurt Busch pits as green flag stops are underway. Kevin Harvick spins exiting the pit lane and the caution is out!

Elliott leads the field to the pit lane. Kurt Busch cycles back to the lead.

Green, Kurt Busch and Ryan Blaney run side by side for the lead. They fight for space, Busch wins the battle.

2 to go in stage two, Martin Truex Jr has a flat left rear! No caution.

Kurt Busch cruises to the win in stage two at Kansas Speedway!

Pit Penalty: Kyle Busch will be sent to the rear.

Green flag on stage three, Kurt Busch and Ryan Blaney fight for space. Blaney drives it deep into turn three but he can’t clear him. Kurt Busch holds the lead.

90 to go, Austin Cindric tags the wall. He bounces off of it and into Alex Bowman. They both keep rolling as they battle for 6th, no caution.

86 to go, Kyle Larson runs inches off the outside wall. He builds momentum and has a run on Kurt Busch for the lead. He drives it deep to the bottom in turn one. Larson slides Busch, clear. He gets loose and tags the right rear on the outside wall! Kurt Busch drives right back by on the inside to retake the lead.

72 to go, Chase Elliott loses a left rear wheel and he spins across the track! He’s stuck in the grass and the caution is out.

Green, Kurt Busch and Kyle Larson run side by side for the lead. As they side draft off turn two, Blaney has a run on both of them. Blaney makes it three wide for the lead. It doesn’t work as Kyle Larson noses ahead with Kurt Busch on his inside.

64 to go, they remain side by side at the front. Larson brushes the wall off turn four! Kurt Busch to the lead.

39 to go

39 to go, Kevin Harvick spins off turn four but he saves it. NASCAR throws a yellow.

Pit Penalties: Bubba Wallace and Martin Truex Jr will go to the rear.

Kurt Busch leads them to the pit lane. Kyle Busch wins the race to the pit exit.

Green, Kyle Busch and Kyle Larson run side by side for the lead. Larson drives it deep to the inside in turn three, Larson to the lead.

20 to go, Kurt Busch is up to 2nd and closing on Kyle Larson in the battle for the lead. Larson is running inches off the outside wall as Kurt Busch run a full car length off the wall.

9 to go, Kurt Busch is all over the bumper of Larson in the battle for the lead. Larson gets loose off turn two. Busch cuts to the inside and they run side by side.
