Texas Starting Lineup: May 2022 (NASCAR All-Star Race)

NASCAR starting lineup for the All-Star Race and Open Race

Tomorrow, the NASCAR Cup Series takes on Texas Motor Speedway. The 1.5-mile track is set to pay $1,000,000 to win in the All-Star Race. Tonight, teams take to the track for a highly unique qualifying format.

TV Schedule | Event Format

Practice: Ahead of qualifying, teams took to the track for a brief 20 minute practice. The session was split into two groups by cars in the Open and cars who are already locked into the All-Star race. Tyler Reddick was fastest in open practice with a 29.06. Denny Hamlin won the All-Star practice with a 28.84.

Open Qualifying: NASCAR qualifying for the open race saw the entire field take to the track for just a single lap. Tyler Reddick starts from the pole position in the Open race after turning a 28.880. Daniel Suarez complete the front row.

NASCAR All-Star Qualifying

All-Star Qualifying: NASCAR All-Star race qualifying featured two rounds. The field took to the track in the first round with a single lap run. The top 8 cars from round one advanced into round two.

Round 2 (All-Star Qualifying): Round two saw a brand new format. Cars lined up side by side at the end of the pit lane for a bracket style drag race. Crews then made a four tire stop, dropped the jack and the two cars drag raced around the track from a standing stop to the start/finish line.
