Tomorrow, the NASCAR Xfinity Series takes the green flag in Concord, North Carolina. Today, the field rolls to the Charlotte Motor Speedway for a session of practice and qualifying.

Just ahead of qualifying, teams rolled to the track for a 20 minute practice. Trevor Bayne makes his return to the series with authority as he topped practice with a 30.645.
Ty Gibbs brushed the wall late in the practice. “I lost steering for a whole second there,” Gibbs radio. The crew will take that car back to the shop and start at the rear of the field on Saturday.
Riley Herbst bottomed out, ran up the hill and tagged the wall in turn three coming to the green flag for his qualifying lap.
Sam Mayer will start from the pole position. He turned a 30.018.
