CONCORD, N.C. — Dale Earnhardt Jr. is in the midst of the Contender Round of the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup. But that doesn’t mean it’s too early to look ahead to the 2016 paint scheme for his No. 88 Nationwide Chevrolet SS. Nationwide did just that, surprising 10 fans with the experience of a lifetime.

Nationwide® and Dale Jr. kicked off their partnership at Richmond International Raceway in the fall of 2014 and revealed the No. 88 Nationwide Chevy SS. This was the start of an expanded partnership heading into 2015 when Nationwide will be Dale Jr.’s majority sponsor for 21 races including the 2015 Daytona 500. The primary sponsorship has been renewed again for 2016.
Dale Jr. started his racing career at the late age of 17 in the Street Stock division at Motorsport Park in Concord, N.C. He quickly honed his skills and moved up to the NASCAR XFINITY Series, where he won back-to-back championships in ’98 and ’99. Dale Jr. joined the top tier of NASCAR and quickly proved himself proficient at the sport’s fastest tracks by winning an unprecedented 4 consecutive restrictor plate races at Talladega Superspeedway.
In 2008, he teamed up with a new partner in the racing world: Nationwide Insurance. This partnership was an extension of his family’s longtime relationship with Nationwide off the track. In fact, the Earnhardt family has trusted Nationwide for their insurance needs for more than 35 years.
