Phoenix Raceway starting lineup for the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series in November 2017
3 drivers are locked in. The other 5 drivers have yet to claim a position into the playoffs. All 5 will all fight for the last remaining position in the final round of the NASCAR playoffs. It’s starts tonight with qualifying.

Round 1
The top 24 advance to round 2. Matt Kenseth is the first car on track. Most of the field is waiting for the sun to set behind the grandstands.

Last week, Kyle Larson said he was looking forward to the last lap at Homestead. Now, he’s at the top of scoring sheet.
Larson wins round 1. All 8 playoff drivers transfer to round 2.

Round 2
The top 12 advance. Round 2 has begun and Matt Kenseth is again the first car on the race track. The sun is now hiding behind the grandstands.
3 minutes remain, Brad Keselowski turned a lap, but he’s fallen outside the top 12. Jimmie Johnson just turned his first lap, 11th. Keselowski is the only driver outside the top 12.
Matt Kenseth wins round 2. Keselowski will be the only Round of 8 playoff driver that doesn’t advance to the final round.
