Pocono Raceway results featuring the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series on June 3, 2018
Today, the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series takes to the tricky triangle. Pocono Raceway in Long Pond, Pennsyvania is a 2.5-mile triangle oval.

Ryan Blaney and Kevin Harvick will lead the field to the start. 50 laps in stage 1, 50 more in stage 2 and 60 laps in stage 3 will complete the 110 lap event.
Green flag, no bumping at all at the front. Ryan Blaney gets the jump, Harvick pulls in to attempt a side draft, he pulls even into turn 1. Blaney wins the race out of turn 1 on the outside.
Lap 5, the top 4 run within a half second of the leader. Kyle Busch dives to the inside of Harvick, move the #18 to second. He sets the gps for the leader. Kyle Busch runs wide, he nearly tags the wall. Out of the gas, Harvick and Truex swing around.
Lap 12, Harvick has a run on Blaney off turn 3. Harvick looks to the inside and he has a full straight-away to complete the pass into turn 1, new leader.
Lap 17, Ryan Blaney is on pit road. As soon as he lost the lead the pole sitter complained of handling issues. 4 tires and an adjustment. Lap 25, Kyle Busch is in. Lap 26, Harvick and Truex are in. Kyle Busch cycles out ahead of car, short pitting worked.
Jimmie Johnson and the rest of the top five remain on the track. They pit one by one. Lap 33, Keselowski remains out front, he hasn’t pitted. Harvick gets a run on Kyle Busch off turn 3, he swings to the inside and takes the 2nd position into turn 1. Lap 34, Brad Keselowski is in and the lead is passed to Harvick.
7 to go in stage 1, Harvick is working through lapped traffic. He comes up quick on Derrike Cope and has to check up. Truex has a run off turn 2. Harvick pulls to the inside to lock down the inside. No problem, Truex drives around on the outside.
Final lap, Joey Logano is out of fuel! The crew didn’t get it full on the top. Truex Jr wins stage 1 at Pocono Raceway.

The field hits the pit lane. Brad Keselowski takes two tires, he’s first off. Harvick is off second with four. Blaney picks up 4 spots as stage winner Truex falls outside the top 10 due to a slow stop. The crew couldn’t get the tires off on the #78.
Green, Keselowski gets the jump but he has now help. Blaney pushes Harvick into turn 1 on the inside. Harvick takes the lead in turn 1.
Lap 78, Kevin Harvick is back on pit road. Darrell Wallace Jr leads and Austin Dillon runs 2nd, neither of those cars have pitted. Wallace waves Dillon by. However, Harvick is there as well, he drives right by the both of them to reclaim the lead. Wallace finally hits the pit lane.
Kevin Harvick cruises away to win stage 2.
Stage 2 Results: 1. Kevin Harvick; 2. Kasey Kahne; 3. Clint Bowyer; 4. Martin Truex Jr; 5. Chase Elliott; 6. Kyle Larson; 7. Brad Keselowski; 8. Ryan Blaney; 9. Jimmie Johnson; 10. Alex Bowman;
The field hits the pit lane. Harvick is first in and first off. Austin Dillon is second, plus 18 positions with a two tire stop.
Green, Harvick selects the outside lane, he’s clear before turn 1. Austin Dillon takes a narrow entry, he slides up the hill in front of the field. They take Dillon 3 wide. Busch comes out 2nd and Larson is 3rd.
Bubba Wallace has shifted from 3rd to 2nd. He’s lost the transmission and he heads to the pit lane under green.
36 to go, Derrike Cope has spun. This is the first caution of an accident. Larson spun Cope off turn 3. Cope was 8 laps down.
The field hits the pit lane for what could be the final time. Harvick has a little trouble moving around Blaney how’s park in the stall ahead of his. As a result, Kyle Busch leads them at the pit exit.
Green, Kyle Busch is clear by 3 car lengths into turn 1. Martin Truex Jr sweeps around the outside of Harvick into turn 1 to take over 2nd.
Busch, Truex and Harvick run nose to tail at the front of the field. .7 seconds separates 1st to 3rd. The yellow is out for debris.
“Water temp’s going up,” Almirola states after hitting a piece of metal in the race track. Almirola runs 9th.
Kyle Busch hits the pit lane. Harvick and Truex remain on the track. Kyle Busch will restart in 8th, the first car with 4 fresh tires.
Green, Truex leads into turn 1. Harvick and Larson run side by side for 2nd. They’re still side by side in the tunnel turn, Harvick lifts and gives the position to Larson on the outside. In 1 lap, Kyle Busch ran 3 wide andis currently in 4th.
14 to go, Alex Bowman gives an aggressive side draft to Hamlin down the front. They run side by side into turn 1. Hamlin wiggles off the bottom and slides up and into Bowman. The #88 tags the outside wall while the #11 slides to the inside wall. The caution is out.
Green, Erik Jones is around at the flag stand. Joey Logano got into the back up him as they fanned out. Jones was hooked and sent back across the track. He bounced off Newman then collected the inside wall.
Green, Truex pulls ahead. He comes down to block Larson. He then swings all the way back to the outside wall as he heads into turn 1. Larson pulls right to his bumper, not contact. Truex leads. Busch gets around Harvick to take over 3rd.
3 to go, Truex leads Larson by .9 seconds.
