Hot laps / Qual
Sharon Speedway

Kyle Bronson and Scott Bloomquist are not at the race track 15 min ahead of hot laps. Correction, Bronson is here just in time for hot laps. Bloomquist has yet to arrive.

Bobby Pierce is quickest driver in hot laps. He circled the flat speedway in 15.943 seconds.

Mason Zeigler is the quickest car following the single round of qualifying. He circled the track at 16.642 seconds.

Bloomquist has just pulled into the pit area. The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series has a rule on late arrivals. Drivers are allowed 1 1 late mulligan. Typically there’s a vote with the 12 regulars on whether or not the driver is allowed to compete. With only 26 cars, there’s no need for a vote.

Mason Zeigler and Bobby Pierce set the front row in heat race number one. Green, Zeigler wins the battle on the low side of turn 1.

Pierce is kicking up the loose dust on the high side. Pierce drops to the bottom.

Davenport is looking to take 2nd. He gets a run off turn 4. He takes the inside into turn 1.

Zeigler wins heat race number 1 by 10 car lengths.

Josh Richards and Earl Pearson Jr trail the pace truck ahead of heat race number two. Green, Richards leads on the bottom into turn 1.

Pearson fights back on the top! He’s making it work. Pearson to the lead off turn 2. That’s the only pass on the outside so far.

Lap 5, most drivers are taking a wide entry with a late apex. It’s hard to get the power down on the flat banking.

Pearson drives away to win heat race number two at Sharon Speedway.

Heat 3 – Report
Sharon Speedway

Don O’Neal and Hudson O’Neal will lead them to the start in the final heat race of the night. Bloomquist will start last.

Green flag, Hudson O’Neal gets the jump on the outside. Bloomquist is 3 wide at the line. False start for Hudson O’Neal, he’ll go to the tail. Max Blair moves to the outside front row.

Green, Don O’Neal and Blair run side by side and out of turn 1. Blair is hanging on the outside.

Lap 2, Don O’Neal is clear on the inside of turn 2. Blair slots in behind him. McCreadie gets by Blair.

Lap 8, Bloomquist is clicking around the outside of the race track. He’s the only car up there but he’s making it work. Bloomquist is around Blair for 3rd.

B Main – Report
Sharon Speedway

Mathew Latta and Kyle Bronson line up on the front row for the only B Main of the night. Green, Hudson O’Neal launches from row two. He looks inside Latta in turn 1. Kyle Bronson runs the top and gets away from them both.

Lap 2, Hudson O’Neal has run down Bronson. They battle for the lead 15 car lengths ahead of the field.

Lap 3, Hudson O’Neal looks low into turn 1. Bronson holds him off. They run side by side. Still side by side.

Lap 6, finally O’Neal is clear into turn 1.

Hudson O’Neal drives away to win by 3 seconds over Kyle Bronson.

Main Event – Report
Sharon Speedway

Mason Zeigler and Earl Pearson Jr set the front row for the 50 lap main event in Hartford, Ohio. A 4 wide salute for the dirt late model racing fans and we’re ready.

Green flag, Zeigler and Pearson run side by side into turn 1. Zeigler hangs on the outside off turn 2.

Lap 2, Pearson slots in behind Zeigler. He looks to the low side, no room.

Davenport is coming in a hurry! Davenport is flying around the cushion. He’s up to 2nd!

Lap 4, Davenport looks to the outside of Zeigler off turn 2. He had a foot on him but Zeigler shuts the door runs to the wall on exit. Light contact as Davenport jumps off the throttle to let him in.

Davenport cuts to the bottom in turn 3. They run side by side off turn 4. Davenport drives deep into turn 1. He slides up the hill and bangs doors with Zeigler. They both slide up the hill. Don O’Neal takes 2nd as Zeigler holds the lead.

Lap 11, Don O’Neal has a look for the lead on the bottom. They run side by side, still side by side. Finally, O’Neal is clear!

Lap 25, Don O’Neal leads Zeigler by the length of the entire front straight.

Lap 35, most of the field has moved to the bottom. This feature is being run in the daylight. Don O’Neal is stuck behind some lap cars. But so is Zeigler.

5 to go, Zeigler has closed the gap to 6 car lengths. There’s a lap car between them. Lappers run side by side ahead of O’Neal, he’s off the throttle early in turn 1, riding behind them.
