Dover International Speedway: NASCAR Penalty Report (October 2018)

NASCAR crew member suspended following an infraction of NASCAR’s substance abuse policy

There was a single penalty announced following the NASCAR weekend at Dover International Speedway. The weekend featured a double header weekend for the Monster Energy NASCRA Cup Series as well as the NASCAR Xfinity Series.

There were no mechanical, lug nut or safety infractions. However, there was a violation of NASCAR’s substance abuse policy.

Daniel Darnstaedt has been indefinitely suspended following the substance abuse violation. Darnstaedt is an engineer for MBM Motorsports.

The team fields a car in both the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series and NASCAR Xfinity Series field. Timmy Hill has run 17 MENCS races and 25 NXS races in 2018 thus far.

Hill turned 35 laps in the MENCS race over the weekend before retiring from the event with a transmission issue.

Reinstatement of the crew member will take place following a successful completion of NASCAR’s Road to Recovery Program.
