North Carolina race team shuts down with items going up for sale
Ken Schrader has possibly run more races than any single driver in the world.
The driver from Fenton, Missouri ran 763 NASCAR Cup Series races between 1984 and 2013. Tack on another 116 NASCAR Xfinity Series and 105 NASCAR Truck Series starts. Together, he’s collected 7 race wins across all three series.
Beyond the national series, Schrader is an avid short track racer. The former USAC Silver Crown champion will race just about anything. While his main focus in recent years have been on dirt modified racing.
He’s done so much racing that he operates two race shops. One in North Carolina and the other in the St. Louis area.
The North Carolina based shop operates the ARCA Menards Series team. Schrader’s most recent ARCA start came on the DuQuoin dirt where he finished 8th in 2019.
In 2020, Natalie Decker made the one and only ARCA appearance for KSR. She finished 26th at Daytona.
Now, the North Carolina building has been sold. Additionally, many haulers, racing parts, go karts and race cars are going up for auction.
Highlighting the auction thus far is a 2003 Frieghtliner Coronado Road Tractor with sleeper cab. Another 2004 Kentucky Trailer Racecar Transporter is also on the auction list.

Ken Schrader Racing comments on closure
The team recently posted some details on the upcoming changes:
“Well the time has finally come. Cars are staged in the shop to get ready to be moved to St. Louis,” Ken Schrader Racing stated via social media.
“The [NC] shop has been sold and the St. Louis move has started. Still running the federated auto parts dirt car and assorted other events and Racing as much as possible. Just closing down North Carolina shop and ARCA team.”
“Iron Horse auction will be conducting an online auction from December 24 to January 4. Many of our old awards, planks, trophies, Team clothing, sheet-metal and assorted other items are being sold by The Racing Warehouse.”
“It has been a fantastic and fun ride and we appreciate all the help and support we have had over the years! Remember, we are full speed ahead with our Dirt program!! Happy holidays to all!”
