NASCAR driver Corey LaJoie was tired of a Kevin Harvick flag; He fixed it

Corey LaJoie leaves a present on doorstep of NASCAR fan to improve his own drive to work

Corey LaJoie is in his third full-time season with the NASCAR Cup Series. The 29-year-old is in his debut with Spire Motorsports.

Spire Motorsports is based in Concord, North Carolina. On his compute to work, Corey LaJoie passes a flag that’s hung proudly by a NASCAR fan.

Rage sets in and he grabs the steering wheel a little harder. LaJoie’s drive to work makes him sad.

The driver found a simple solution to the problem. He went to the homeowner’s door and left a flag of his own.

New flag

The #7 flag was dropped on the doorstep in hopes that the Harvick flag would be taken down in replacement of LaJoie’s own flag. With the flag, LaJoie left an note explaining his side…

“I drive by this Harvick flag everyday. I brought you this flag in hopes you would change your allegiance to the hometown kid,” Corey LaJoie wrote on a note.

After the LaJoie Prime delivery, the NASCAR fan reached out to the drive via twitter…

The Harvick flag owner responded, “thanks for the flag and the note today!!! It was awesome I missed you by like 10 mins.”

The flag remained in the package. It remains unclear if the flag has been swapped but LaJoie still has hopes…

Lajoie responded to the fan, “I got tired of seeing that Harvick flag everyday I drive by.”

LaJoie opened his 2021 season with a top-10 run at Daytona. The team is now coming off a run of three top-20 finishes in a row. LaJoie has an average finish of 26.2 so far. That’s a career best for any driver at Spire Motorsports who has run more than 6 races in a season for the team that made their debut in 2019.
